Considering the war between the two races. How can any race that can't get over a war that is now a millennia old, be wise?

[edit] I still don't understand how elves can keep their lightie status with the willingness to kill someone over something that is now a millennia old

Delves get the shaft hardcore. They get 4 less stat points than elves, gets an extra weakness to only get faerie fire. *twirls finger in the air*

All races with weaknesses needs to be looked at in general. Elves might, and I say might, be fixed if the xtra dmg was reduced in half. Delves are still way underpowered.

D-elves get color spray and Bolt weaknesses. - 2 classes

Elves get finger which can be scribed which lets any number of classes use it, harm which also comes on some nifty 3X scrolls and hellfire which also comes in wands and staves.

I think elves are more at risk than d-elves. Not to mention poison and disease are available to 3 classes, 2 of which are evil only.

Elves are resistant to harm, harm is not negative energy.

WTF?

Delves get the shaft compared to elves when it comes to weaknesses. According your logic, color spray can be scribed, there are plenty wands of it already, probably staves also.

If you want to add another elf weakness, add the fact that negative energy weapons overflow the game(including one of the best 1 handed straight daggers) where weapons that rape delves are very few(but very nice subtypes most of them also).

I like the weaknesses (even if they're a bit excessive)
it's the fact that delfs don't get anything useful on the plus side
that I dislike. Personally, I'd take massive weaknesses
(one shot kills from rocks to the head - not giant-thrown)
if the bonuses were equally good/better. Extra stats, racial spells, etc.
Maybe instead of extra wis, just add extra mana/mana regen
and will as a racial bonus (that way you keep the wis low, but
delfs still get what they need).

Harm is negative energy. It heals undead. Help harm lists -

Quote:
[Spells help] Damage Spells

Syntax: cast 'cause light' <victim>
cast 'cause serious' <victim>
cast 'cause critical' <victim>
cast 'harm' <victim>

These spells inflict damage on the victim. The higher-level spells do
more damage, especially when the caster is more practiced in them. The
negative energy with which these spells hurt people can actually be used
to renew the damaged flesh of the undead.

Elves are not weak to harm. =/

Otherwise, elves should lose the priest class, since no elf should be willing to use negative energy for anything. :o And according to Dulrik, your skillset determines your RP.

P.S. On a side note, I think it's been established over time that the helpfiles suck. The helpfiles for chain lightning and cone of cold don't even mention the fact that they can be used at range.

Help elf says they are weak to negative energy. Harm helpfile says its negative energy. It heals the undead.

Whats your basis for saying they are not weak to it?

And just because they are is no reason not to let them have the class lest you wish to remove priests, shamans, and warlocks from centaurs because omg they have a fire spell? Thats just bad logic Syndal.

No, but it's NEGATIVE energy, sounds evil to me, what is an elf doing using that? Sort of like how you can't be a rogue and have "honor".

Also, my basis is the fact that I've never seen an elf get owned by harm.

Their GOD grants them it. Only they get it, an elf shouldn't be arguing with the gods over what he gets. Also I've known some elves to not use it since it is negative energy.
