Wow. Did D-A just cry about the fact that people can't be IMMUNE TO EVERYTHING IN THE GAME?

God damn. Guess I shouldn't be surprised though.

What about swashies or mercs Cannibal? I said it in my example that a swashie with sick enchants, especially MP, gets hurt quite a bit in melee, while damage spells barely scratch him. I thought all classes had access to enchanted armor, not only spellcasters.

That's why melee is overpowered now, compared to spellcasting. There are ways to protect yourself from magic. There are not enough ways to protect yourself from melee.

And then we have Syn adding her arguments to that wonderful discussion. But she plays chars that spam die and never has any enchants on her anyway.

God damn. Guess I shouldn't be surprised though.

While I would not be against any tweaks, I strongly disagree that melee is overpowered. The majority of the SK players do not enchant for many reasons; time consumption, repetition boredom, lack of willing enchanters, etc. They simply grab whatever armor they have, and more often than not it is magical protection.

There are so many, so many, so many ways at a sorcerer's disposal than to spam cast acid blast to seal the deal. Please, posting a sorcerer spamming acid on anyone is similar to a swashbuckler using a crossbow, dealing similar damage, and asking for a miraculous debuff on ranged attack avoidance.

What would be appreciated is a revision on the massive 'auto assist train' (tm) that kicks in once the combat starts. There has been a thread all about this before. What were Dulrik's findings in the end? Does he find in favor for some tweaks that encourage players to input their own commands if and when combat starts up on their screen?

I don't hate the idea, but I think the general idea of combat is that people are moving around during it.

True sign of a 2nd edition fan. A dying breed lately...

To the point though, In sk and with formations in, I don't really picture people as 'moving' too much in combat. More like close formation fighting.

On raising the penalties of gstr and haste: Keep in mind that you will be dooming some races that don't have an innate str over 20 to do [REDACTED] for damage, that way.

What about swashis?!? WHAT ABOUT SWASHIS?!?

Holy crap man, do you remember Ghimgul? The little bastard never made it past Master (1) and I never had any complaints about how much damage he took in combat. Aged human swashi and it still took large groups to drop him.

I don't know what crack your smoking or what's wrong with your swashis.

I agree with Cannypoo, actually. Swashbucklers are a really awesome class to play. Hell, I'd play one in a heartbeat, especially with the new weapon subtypes and code, if I didn't feel that the character would inevitably stand in the shadow of my old one.
