It detracts more from my enjoyment of the game more than any other change since you added xp loss to recall.

Not sure I agree with that. Let's not get too extreme.

Great, now you immortalized my typo - and I fixed it within about 2 minutes of posting!

I don't feel I'm being extreme about it. Which change since xp loss for recall do you feel detracted most from the game for you (actually, that would be a funny post topic)?

For me, it's this one.

It's a nerf for anyone with the summon or gate spell. It makes travel all that much harder, and there was no need to do it in the first place. You've fixed a nothing problem with a sledgehammer.

The way I see it, it was a luxury for classes with gate/summon. People who can gate and summon still have it way more easy than those who can't.

The second+ changes to the weapons code without offering mercs the opportunity to change specs. Another change that didn't affect me at the time, but god it was lame. I felt really bad for all those GM mercs who had put hundreds (or thousands) of hours into their characters only to be told "by the way, your character is trash now".

I hope this is just a short-lived change. Nobody is hurt by people using Britta or obscure named NPCs to make travel easier.

The problem was with intentionally placing popular gate targets in dangerous areas. This should be dealt with the same way that placing dangerous monsters in popular cities - say "don't do it" and punish people who insist; the same way "vindictive raising" was dealt with - no code changes are necessary.

It's the same code that's already used when you charm an NPC and drag them way the hell away from where they live. This is the same thing, just that summon was a different way of dragging them away and was currently unaddressed. Fixed.

Do they go home when their shop is closed?

If not this 'fix' is [REDACTED]. As they are obviously still living vending machines. I get more annoyed when I walk into a shop and its closed than when the shopkeeper isn't there.

Expect those support classes to take you on less trips to get your non-summon/gate character gear. Also, of course those that have it still have it easier than those than don't.

Thats like saying classes that get bash can still bash better than those that don't get it.

This change helps me immensely from a PvP standpoint and hurts me immensely from a PvE standpoint. While I fully understand the reasoning behind the change, I have to agree with the 'over the top' sentiment of some of the posters. I have to agree with the idea of placing more work on the immstaff to police people who summon anchors to cause problems for other people. Sorry, immstaff, for adding my voice to the 'make you work harder for free' crowd. Make summoning anchors for harmful purposes on par with bringing dangerous NPCs places for harmful purposes.

Add more work for the immstaff and more curses for the p-base, but don't get rid of summoning gate anchors, please.

Or if you absolutely positively have to make this change permanent, fix the weather. There are too many out-of-the-way places people need to get to and all those places regularly have RL hours-long wind patterns preventing travel. Have you ever been magically flying over the ocean waiting tick after tick for a slim chance to move in the direction you need just because you have a 60 mph headwind? Absolutely ridiculous and absolutely unnecessary.

I cannot decipher what your said there. I never said anything about being better...I said have it easier. And they do, how can you even contest this?

No more gate Anchors? What the hell is Lyjayne going to be used for?

Not her intended purpose I hope!
