Yes, all the NPCs I summoned yesterday stuck around long enough for me to charm them. Also, it seems that scout pets(animals) when summoned do not wander off, no matter how much time they're given.

As already mentioned, gate anchors in zones like Sehlys, or anywhere over the sea really would be a very welcome addition, either that or have the winds calm enough to fly to those places more often than one is able to now.

Both points have already been addressed, I'm just throwing my support behind them.

I will look at winds in the oceans. I will also be adding a few gate targets, but not myriad. These are the things I can do to give the players something useful in response to the change that is perceived as negative. I don't really see it being a monumental change, just an adjustment that was eventually going to happen.

It's a monumental change to remove gate anchors, really!

For like 10 days, until everyone knows the new gate targets and uses them all the time.

I vote no for a gate target everywhere, it makes it too easy for those who don't want to even travel for 3 leagues in the wilderness in fear of getting ganked or something and want to hop in areas they intend to instantly.

You would argue that its easier to gank someone in random wilderness spaces than if that person is using a known gate anchor?

Portal stones ganks. That's what most people try to avoid with gate targets.

More gate targets, even less PK.

I know for the most part the same names were used as anchors in certain places, but if those names were permanent they would essentially become new portal stones for people to camp

I like the idea of taming the winds a bit. The game has moved a bit too much towards forced grouping. A shaman or warlock isn't always available. Besides, trust us to look for worthwhile interactions. If people aren't grouping at a place, it's usually because there's not much fun to running a group in that place. (Owyran is a good example. Unless you're running a particular quest, the exploration is best enjoyed alone or with a single friend. But if you're running that quest, of course you'll bring a decent-sized group along.)

On the other hand, I hope the gate targets are very sparse indeed. There's little point in having remote locations that aren't actually remote.

I agree with this.

And archie? While you're taming ocean winds a bit, might you could you possibly look at winds around Taslamar Palace? It's far less important and a simple 'no' will be begrudgingly accepted, but I'm still asking. :P
