I think the training area in the wastes is well done with its desciptions, although there are a few things I would like to point out.

I started in this area as a halfling necro. The area was easy enough to memorize, although I feel that it is still lacking. The spells are 1-1.5 silver which is really not too much of a problem, but in comparison to the new 1 copper in most other cities, this is a bit steep-(Especially with only one gold to start with, as opposed to the old 1 plat.)

I searched the area and found two necro trainers and found that cause light can only be trained to fair. I looked around for weapons and armor and the only free things I found were copper and leather jerkins, a spear, mace, flail and a whip. There is a sorceror trainer there, but I only recommend killing her for her clothing at amatuer3. That is after you are blinded by color spray and and run out of mana and stunned 4 times.

I started to train in the beginners area and found that it took 7-10 successful cause lights to kill one hill giant, which took a quarter of my mana pool as opposed to other city training areas that only take 3-6 c-lights. After killing my first three, three-quarters of my mana was gone with wise wis, and I only gained an average of 1-2 ticks of exp per 3 kills. At amatuer 1 with influential cha, I dont think that is quite enough. 30 minutes for one advancement is too much time.

At amatuer 1 at about 3/4 the way to the next lvl, I became familiar with the grotto, and my xp slowed down even more. The kobolds(who only drop 5-9 copper) are probably the easiest to kill down there. But even at amatuer2 killing 5 kobolds only gets you 1-2 ticks of exp.

But no problem. I was quickly drained of my health and mana so I thought I would visit the prison chaplain and recieve the free blessings, cures, and energizes :D . To my suprise he does not do anything but offer healing for coin. :-? I decided to pay for them and found that with much sleeping to regenrate health and mana and buying energizes I was able to slowly train  . At amatuer2, the prices double as they do everywhere and I was not able to keep up.

I feel as if I were training in taslamar, I could gain xp faster with only a practice dagger and no spells. At least I could also buy a full set of cloth armor for 8 silver a piece as opposed to the 2-3 gold per cloth item in the wastes. I could also explore more of the city with the refresh orbs.

I understand that a map of kols moot and moraksdal is currently being made, but it is pretty confusing exploring the areas outside of the grotto.
Ive decided to discontinue this character and relocate.

I only recommend the area if you are a hellion. Even then you will only find one piece of 'light armor'. But if you enjoy much sleeping and training and only gaining 1-3 Levels per hour at amatuer this is the place for you.

Before I even submit this post, I know that there will be some people that may reply and disagree. My only answer to them is to try the area out as a necro first.

I tried the area out while i was mapping it, though i believe i was a swash-human the first time and something that was a giant the second (needed to map the human only and giant only rooms) and I simply agree with everything you said! It just didn't seem like a newbie friendly newbie area.

moot's newbie area could really use a decent healer like the other training areas have, the layout is good and easy to remember. It's not that it sucks, it's just not as good as the others. It could use free generic gear for novices (like teron) and a weapon shop like the ones in exile.

I'm still really new to the game, but i've visited every newbie area that's allowed in creation while 'trying to learn' So from a newbie's point of view, just those two things would improve it greatly.
