I think the solution is just to put it back the way it was. It was working fine. Not going to happen though :(

With the amount of abuse and complete lack of OOC courtesy in the "summon every named NPC you know" tactic, I doubt it will be changed back anytime soon.

Or if Dulrik is feeling nice, to return summon to the way it was.
And warrant a deletion for anyone stupid enough to summon a NPC as anything other then a gate target or charmie use.

Aww. No summon training? :P

Where is the idea about a "spell gate anchor" going? Is it being done or?

Has anyone noticed how much more tolerable the weather is in the past week? That's one beneficial side affect of this change. I believe that there was a few ideas suggested after the change which could be implemented. I've also added more gate targets. I'm pretty sure its not a fair trade off. I'm not fond of the way people were treating each other this year with these tactics and there was not just one or two people involved. Kind of a butter side up, butter side down thing. It snowballed.

These changes suck, I hate not having gate targets. I wish I could perma-ban all those pussies that abused the [REDACTED] code, but hey... at least we're having nice weather.

Fixed.

I was the one who made this happen and I approve of the changes. I was playing Halven at the time and the whole summon-target vs. law NPCs turned into quite a game of one-upmanship. It was pretty easy to project that something would be done about it once it reached critical mass.

Some tactics have to be abused to their fullest before they will be changed/fixed, it's always been that way. DA and Peso and Demon_SK were doing this for months before we had the opportunity to give them some of their own medicine.

It needs to be hard-coded otherwise it will be abused.

By the way, there are still all sorts of NPC's that can be used for gate anchors. Just not the very popular gate-targets into cities and various places.

Ah, okay. That I can get on board with, then. Shopkeepers and quest NPCs should never have been gate/summon targets to begin with.

There are still NPCs that can be used as gate anchors? News to me.

You can't gate to non-named NPCs and names NPCs now walk away after a tic. Am I missing something?
