Hrm, the last necromancer I played was a deep-elf. I managed to squeeze bolt of glory damage down to 7% from a champion level paladin (the few levels he could have got would have probably bumped it up to 8%), I was able to walk through arrows with ease, and solo raped a bunch of stuff.

What is this garbage about playing as an average player? If you're not willing to invest the time into exploring the game, and finding new and better items, making friends with people and increasing your skill, tactics and knowledge then you deserve to be gang raped. Get your entitlement mentality out of here.

There's nothing wrong with the class. It has everything to do with the player behind the class.

Necros are maybe the 2nd best class for pure exploring. So if you need to learn more about the MUD then you really have no excuse.

Indeed. A necromancer can solo just about any area in the game that doesn't involve either a no-magic room at the entrance (IC) or that requires 2+ people to enter (ToM/a few elemental planes).

I've done the outer planes with TWO controls. And but 'done the outer planes' I mean I've gone through them, into the tangle, killed the shadow of a daemon and walked out with daemon's bane (lightie only weapon that zaps me)...not to mention any other loot that caught my eye.

The list of areas I CANT visit alone is very limited.

IC, ToM, Mithril Dragon and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head. Besides that, the mud is fair game with varying levels of prep. Hell I've been in 6+ person lightie groups that went slower/didn't get through the outer planes than I did alone.

I call shinanigans, you can't do the iron rod part to get past the ice golem with just 1 person.

Demon, I think you read his post wrong. Nowhere does he mention something that includes going to a so-called ice golem, if that thing even excists?

*going out of his way not to give out ic info*

Yeah, silly, =P he actually said he couldn't get to ToM, which is what this so-called golem would be in the way of. If it existed, of course.
