The Center of Kol's Plaza
A wrinkle-nosed male gnome starts to concentrate.

[HP:100][ME: 95][PE: 97] (3am)
The Center of Kol's Plaza
A wrinkle-nosed male gnome utters the words, 'eugszr waouq'.
A fire elemental opens a gate to its own plane and steps through.
A fire elemental stops following you.

Yeah..

Code:
help etherealform
[Spells help] etherealform
 Syntax: cast 'etherealform'

Etherealform enables the caster to become immaterial and enter the ethereal
plane.  Because the ethereal plane coexists with the real world, the mage can
see and move about as normal.  However, the mage can also move through some
doors and even some walls as if they were not even there.  A mage can also
not be attacked or affected by anything while on the ethereal plane, except
by another mage who is also ethereal.  [b]Of course, the mage can not affect the[/b]
real world either.

So my elemental is not part of the real world yet not ethereal? Sorcs should not be able to dispel magic when ethereal by the definition of etherealform. At least when the spell is being used as a hostile attack. Like in this case.

Opinions?

Not really kind of broken that way. We used to go in ethereal and dispel the guardians before raping them. There is no threat to the caster in most cases. You just zoom in dispel and scamper off unscathed.

God, I swear, some of SK's players are complete idiots.

Can you dispel ethereal people? Yes. Therefore it is obvious that the spell bypasses the ethereal barrier. Durrrr.

Differance between breaking the spell holding them ethereal and them being on another plane and causing havock.

D won't change it it's been that way forever.

Edit:

Sorry my argument is based on the fact that the sorceror has no risk 99.9% of the time when this type of dispel is used. Yes I know the super ultra prepared should always have some way to jump ethreal and gank the sorc in question.

Causing havoc, yes. God forbid you walk away.

3 classes get dispel magic. Half the classes in the game get scrolls or wands. 1 class can stick the sorc in the room until someone shows up to help, or maybe even cause them to drop out of ethereal with the int loss. Yeah, it's really safe.

And the outer and inner guardians that you dispel and fly away so your buddies can come in an excute with better ease? There is no risk in those types of actions.
