Is there a way we can get the number of languages we can learned based off our base not modded intelligence score?

I guess I am having throwbacks from DnD but that would give some RP opportunities as some people may not speak a common language and may need to hire and someone to inturpret.

This way the Dim giant may only speak his native tongue.

People could be given Immspeak for the duration of the RP event just to say hey I hired X Y Z and George to translate for me.

This would be stupid.

This would make training and stuff so hard if you are trying to find a partner and they cant speak your tongue.

If this was put in I prolly would just quit sk because it would be the stupidest thing to be put in the game.

Learning tongues takes practice.

This is just like saying, make spell casters only be able to learn certain spells if their int sucks...I mean they wouldnt be able to remember how to do each one. *rolls his eyes*

You know what's less complicated?

Leaving it alone.

You would have less to [REDACTED] about.

Turn godspeak into common tongue and give it to everyone, any language beyond that would be bonus, it would mean people in countries could speak their native tongue with less ability for others to but in.

People would be able to communicate with one another AND people would be able to speak hard to find tongues and be sure that most will not understand them.

Giving everyone Godspeak defeats the point of having languages at all - which was, if you're wondering - national identity.

Current system gives no benifit to having languages at all, you can make a quick trip around one city and know all but one. With the new tutor system learning all the languages is easy and a joke, you cannot speak your special tongue in secret to plot or even snub someone. This would give some flexability.

The point is it takes VERY little in order to learn all the tongues of the world, language barriers are rare. The ability to cause them would be fuin for some.

Here's a novel concept! One I've done with certain characters, even!!!!

If you want to play language barriers, DON'T TRAIN ALL OF THEM!!! *GASP!*

I've also gone the route with Stocaryn to understand all languages, but to refuse to speak any but the "superior" Imperial tongue. If you can't understand it, tough!!!

Don't hard code the game to suit something you think that some people might enjoy. If you would enjoy it, you have the option of doing it.

With Common + the other languages communication will still be possible across the board and leave in options.

Hard codeing alignments and starting cities wasn't something we needed eitehr, this makes more sense than that did.
