I am not 'forcing' the imms to do anything - I am showing them that things are unfair, despite their firm belief that these things are not fair.

The imms strongly believe that the law system is fair and does not need to be changed. I have argued extensively with them regarding it. I decided to show them that what they believe is fair really, truly is not fair.

Charm is just the easiest way for a solo player to show that the law system is absurd.

There is no "blackmail" going on, and if it seems like there is "blackmail" then this just shows how absurd the current law system is. If someone is able to do something within the current system that is deemed completely legal but seems unfair to everyone in the game, maybe the current system has some flaws.

If you told the imms that a NPC gave you far too much XP, they looked at it and said it was giving you fine xp, then you proceeded to kill that NPC and plevel off of it - it would NOT be cheating. If you leveled 45 characters off of it all the way to GM in the space of 5 hours each and provided the logs for the immortals to see, it wouldn't be cheating - it would be showing the immortals that they made the wrong decision in your view.

Gilgon, no matter how you rationalize it in your little head there, if you resort to a strong arm tactic, then you are FORCING.

If the immortal staff repeatedly states something is fair, then I do it repeatedly, it doesn't magically turn that fair action into cheating through its repeated use and public display.

Speaking ONLY about the use of charm person and the law, I haven't seen any bug abuse going on. It turns out that charm person was written to specifically make the charmee forget all the crimes that the charmer ever did to them. However, now that it's being used as part of a combo with the sleep spell, it might end up getting changed for balance reasons. I have yet to make a firm decision.

I believe that is what we are going for. Perhaps if a person is slept it can be mal-intent to try and charm them?
