Quest XP apparently got ruined by this. I just did 4 "Mentor-GM" quests, and got a whopping 1 tick of XP.

Exactly as I feared... Now even fewer quests will be done, if any at all...

Yeah, I did 4 quests on my character, and then just said screw it and went back to grinding. (And made it to GM.)

From what I've noticed, it doesn't seem to be so bad. In fact, it seems that some of the highest level quests yield more than one notch of experience. I didn't have much trouble with quests at all.

The only problems I have are the ones that seem to be echoed throughout:

I really miss the way the quests worked, because some of us just aren't into grinding as much and really enjoyed them and the fact that they had some benefit to them. And while people saving all the quests until the last two levels may bother you, doesn't it make sense that some people would wait until they were advanced as possible to start questing? And keep in mind that not everyone did this. I for one completed quests as they came along, and didn't go out of my way for specific ones or anything.

Also, the numbers are a bit annoying in the shops, but that's a minor issue.

I hope you'll reconsider the quests, though.

I really wish people would actually try the new questing system before starting to whine about it.

I'm hoping that's the way it works. It wouldn't make any sense that for every other crime you need a witness, but for theft from a corpse you just magically get reported. I also assume that ghosts cannot remember crimes committed while they were ghosts.

I'm pretty sure this is indeed how it works. If you control the field of battle after the fight, you probably aren't going to get reported for the crime. Your opponents will be dead or fled and citizen NPCs will have left to report you for murder. What the new theft crimes do is make you think twice about looting or destroying while a fight is in progress.

One thing I've been kind of noticing is that when I'm leveling my lowbie, you do learn faster - but it takes a LOT more knowledge to learn individual skills or spells, so for a spell/skill heavy set - this really takes a toll.

Is this a feature, or does CHA or something affect how much it XP it takes to learn an individual spell?

INT affects how much you learn per train command.

There was no change to XP costs for skill training, so as B00ts said, it must be a difference in your intelligence versus previous characters.

Well I think that there was an increase. From what I understand of the change D lowered the max about of xp per level. Which helps you level faster. Now the set about of xp per skill is the same before the changes but you have a lower pool of total xp so it seems like you are using more xp.

I do think that it needs to be looked out. And Initiate (1) took me half of a level to learn one skill.
