Godhood has not been granted. There's nothing new you can do with charm person today that you couldn't do before. I'm pretty sure that charming casters with prepared aliases would have been able to strip and kill you nearly as easily before. Charm has always been an "I win" spell and people have been using it that way for a long time.

Hadn't intended to imply that it had been granted. From what I hear, the changes are similar to what I suggested elsewhere in the thread, a fine start. There are plenty of elements that can still be added to keep it from being an "I win" spell if necessary.

In the amount of time it took to make these posts complaining about charm you could have grabbed enough willpower to make yourself immune to it.

That's a misconception. You can't be immune to a spell, you can simply decrease the chance that it will hit you by a percentage.

And even then, there's always a chance of an unlucky (in your case) or a lucky (in the caster's case) roll and then you're pretty much screwed.

You would think hearing an order to have you killed would cause a person to dislike the charmer, but in reality, people who have are mentally like that, wouldn't.

Actually dependent personality disorder is similar. Persons with this disorder will not get appropriately angry with, or speak out against something they know to be wrong for fear of losing the support or affections of the ones they are dependent on.

Doesnt need to be a disorder though. A lot of times people will take things from people they respect or love. Sometimes they will even rationalize it and not consider it wrong.
