I thought it would work. Seems it doesn't. I wonder if that is actually what Dulrik intended. Some items are visible through dirt, like potions. This item should work the same way, in my opinion.

You can 'hold washer' even while blind. Then type 'use' while blind and it will make use of whatever tool is in your hand. So you don't have to hold it all the time, you keep it in your inventory instead of a container.

Except if you're using a two-handed weapon, or a weapon and shield, you can't unequip either to equip the washer.

Tis a pity indeed, sometimes I wish that weapons would just get replaced when you type 'wear somethingelse', like everything else.
