It's just not good roleplay to force everyone else to be so unobservant about your character.

Is it a rule violation? Probably not. However, it's a roleplay deficiency sufficient to exclude this character from any faction or IC office. And as Threnody pointed out, players who stubbornly refuse to meet roleplay standards can miss out on other IC alliances as well. I certainly wouldn't waste time offering advanced mechanical help to someone who won't accept basic description help.

I'll agree there's no reason to have a 10+ line description, that likely only 5% of the MUD will ever read. But a few decently descriptive lines isn't a huge burden.

If you can grab the good gear and go to the right leveling places, you should be able to write a description.

I saw this particular character leveling in Tlaxcala a week or so ago and seriously went "wtf", I was on the verge of killing and junk-looting him just for that. The 3-line rule needs to go, it needs to be bumped to at least five or so, and they need to be full lines, not the following...

This man is short.
He has blue eyes.
His hair is black.

What part of "this is a text-based game" don't you understand? A horrible description like that, or of any sort (I've seen some 6-7+ ones that were just awful) really interferes with people wanting to RP with you. You don't have to put EVERYTHING in your description, but come on.

"That is all you really see, really." is not acceptable as 33% of your description, sorry.

Actually, if that was the entirety of the desc, report that. That is most definitely against desc making rules.

My example was just made up, but that "all you really see" line was straight from his description and made up a complete third, 33%, of it.

Those types of descs are made by idiots who don't RP.

Why do you want it to be a full story in a character's description? I wanted my description to have as little as detail, I don't want everyone knowing at first glance how my character is. That's not rp, having a conversation ic however, is.

Ringlets of reddish golden hair cascade from this female elf's head,
falling to the middle of her back. She stands midway between five and six
feet in height, her build slight and unimposing. She has ivory skin, marred
only by a light dusting of freckles that dance over her cheeks and the
bridge of her nose. She has striking blue-green eyes adorned with curling
lashes. Her face is youthful, only gentle creases at the corners of her
eyes betraying any sign of the years.

Oh, yes. You know just how she is, just by reading that. What was I thinking, giving away all my ARPEES????

Don't you know that by having anything that physically describes your char takes away from RP that won't happen, duh!

Know what really needs to stop in descs, is people telling people how they should react to your char, or how one is suppose to read your thoughts. I love that.. really. Do more. I look foward to -- shaking in my boots by the look in someone's eye, or how I should feel belittled and small based on the they way the person stands... All these *beautiful* and *breathtaking* and *lasvicious* women as well... what you may describe as beautiful could be just.. meh to someone. Please. If you are going to create a mudsexxing char.. just call them *easy* and put up a nakked desc.... forget the seductive, alluring.. bla bla bla. Come on, there has to be better ways, and certainly more mature players out there??? Anyone???
