I'm the same way. I used to give out ten or even twenty obsidian to lowbies just for the hell of it, on top of the armor and items I gave them to help leveling out. Now, they're lucky if they just get a set of armor. :P

To make a few obsidian, yes. To make a lot, hell no.

This is just another adjustment that widens the gap between the elite and the permanoobs.

You have to acctualy get to the level to kill the higher level NPCs, the way the economy is it makes it very difficult. Money is becoming more precious than loot.

Another thread Peso points out that the leveling changes do nothing to slow him and his pleveling buddies down, but instead have a greater impact on the permanoobs.

So whatever, the game is moving towards a more annoying state.

Vials are a consumable item, they shouldn't have the same rate of increase in price as armor or weapons do. Sure, the laws of supply and demand apply, but then you also have to apply the law of scarcity and competition. No one in their right mind would increase their prices so high and risk losing customers to their competitors. You can't really implement just one aspect of an economy in an attempt to make it more realistic and completely negate everything else, including gameplay.

I started buying vials at 1,3 platinum and after 15 they costed 2,1, that is outrageously high. I propose a tweak in which scrolls, vials, herbs and all the other consumable items have a different rate of price increase because this is becoming ridiculous.

Or maybe the game being less about brewed/scribed/enchanted items is a good thing in itself.

But whether you agree with that or not, the cost of this stuff is trivial compared to the cost of getting gear from NPCs. If you don't want to pay that much gold for it, you don't have to.

come on, our lives are in a real recession, can't we enjoy a fake world where stuff is cheap?

Even my FAKE world (SK) is getting tougher. :(

Actually, truth is, adventurers in SK possess almost 2/3 of the money in the world. They are the ones who are rich and sticking it to the shopkeepers. They're having their revenge. I'm sure things will be fixed soon. Quite sure.
