Hrm..Okay, I can concede being wrong. BUT FOR THE RECORD, I've never made a pawnshop anywhere anyway.

It's okay, Ain, you have retained our respect despite your admission of being mistaken. In fact, I would go so far as to say BECAUSE of your admission of being mistaken.

Funny, the more I read these threads the more this game looks to be a chore to play than one that seems fun. But that's just my take from what I see on the forums. Though now the idea of starting a new character and finding newb gear grossly over priced from all those that started before me is a big turn off.

Pssh. Don't be silly. Everyone wants to work all day (or night) and then come "play" a game that requires just as much or more investment for no real-world gain. You must be some kind of freak to not enjoy having a second job that doesn't actually pay you.

I like this change to the shops. Though I was sad to see one particular diplomat merchant lose his "shopkeeper" status in Elisair's palace. :(

It's true that I did say that we were going to be limiting the number of shops that bought each type of equipment. At the same time, I also said we would be fixing the bugs so that shops should buy as much of that gear as you wanted to sell to them. Try to read more closely.

Except the part of the comment quoted was specificly related to the "shops that buy things" and not "shops that buy things in a limited fashion".

Quote:
Your shops don't even buy the stuff they sell, so your apple comparison doesn't even fit. Armor shops don't all buy armor, and weapon shops don't all buy weapons. You have limited the number of shops that buy certain goods.

See? No where in that quote, which is directly from Ain's post, is there a statement about the bug of shops saying their inventory is full. Instead, the entire thing is about the total number of shops that will buy XYZ type of item.

"Physician, heal thyself."

I read to the heart of the problem. If there is a shop in each town that buys as much as you want of a type, there's no need to have a dozen shops that buy the same thing. That was just a janky way to get around shop restrictions that don't exist anymore. Keeping them like that is a detriment because it prevents shops from acquiring an identity and makes it more difficult for people to find things that they actually want to buy.

No, vials and scrolls, food and water containers are all pretty obvious.

As usual, we aren't on the same wavelength.

Sure there are shops that sell potions and scrolls. Previously, these were often the same shops that bought armor and weapons, turning every shop into a jumbled mess of product. The goal is that shops that sell potions and scrolls will also buy potions and scrolls. Shops that sell weapons should buy weapons. The things they buy will be the things they sell - and nothing else. It's such an easy concept that I think you just argue because you enjoy disagreeing with me.
