Questing should provide a good amount of coin. If a quest does not provide a coin award now and you think its a good candidate for it, please let us know in the proper manner. Typo is my preferred method, but PM, email, and prayer can get the IMMs attention too.

Huh? How is getting gold hard now at all? It's exactly the same as before except the shops that buy items now buy 50 items instead of 10.

I'm still not to the end of my laundry list in the shops department. When I'm done, the general idea is that all shops will still sell the same items they do now. However, many fewer shops will purchase items from your character. The shops that I've tried to make sure sold things were ones that are centrally located so as to provide ease of access to the largest range of characters. Many shops will have their prices change. Many shops that used to purchase items from players will not do so anymore. I've tried to use the first shops you'd find in an area as the ones which would purchase from your character. I really am trying to line up the types of items purchased with the items sold in the shops currently. In the instances of pawn shops, I've relegated them to the last picks. They will probably purchase items, but not item types they would in the past. I've tried to add a list of the items purchased by stores in a tell to the seller when the type is not obvious or in the case of anything called or resembling a pawn shop.

Now I know that it will make things dramatically different in many shops. I think the changes will ultimately be quite pleasant for players. I'm certainly still interested in hearing more feedback after things gel for a while. I'm guessing I want to give it about a month after I'm done to evaluate the results.

Okay this is what I don't understand. You are saying that you would like to DECREASE the amount of shops that buy things from the players. But Dulrik said that he wanted to increase the number of shops that buy things from players. So I am really confused.

If the idea is to get away from using pawn shops I agree that should be the direction that we should go. When the fix is put into place about weapon shops buying weapons and armor shops buying armor. I think that will help. I know D has said that not every single shop will buy things and I am not saying that is the way that it should be. But as it is right now, I am still having a hard time finding places to sell things and I am not a newbie. I am mean I am certain not a leet player but I would like to think that I know a few things about the game.

Where did he say he wanted to increase the number of shops that purchase from players? As I understand he wants directly the opposite.

The same place where he said that my newly created characters should start out at level 50.

He said less to allocate newbies to a few shops with lots of fun gear.

Here is a little suggestion to help the money woes: Can we up the newbie money pot? You get a set amount of money when you create a character, can we up that? I felt myself very short on money at low levels. Once I moved up in rank and could move a round safely and easily, I was able to get stuff to sell.

I was under the impression that he wanted to fix it so that they shops buy only things that they sell right? IF that is the case then there would be one shop to sell armor too, one shop to sell weapons too, one shop to sell treasures too. Overall it would increase the number of shops to sell too, BUT not every shop would buy everything.

No. The idea is not to make all shops buy things. The idea is to centralize and streamline the selling of goods. There will only be one or two spots to sell a specific item type in each area. The traffic to these specific shops will increase. That's the main part of the idea. Instead of things being sold at all the random shops, things will be sold at the same shop all the time. They'll become another landmark. I'm of the opinion it should be evident what types a store might purchase. Not that every shop should purchase. Perhaps in the future shops could be so condensed, but I'm not sure I am volunteering to undertake that project.

I am all for making IC reference points for these shops. That will be part of the slower evolution. Adding signs, more tell scripts like I've already added that indicate whether a shop will or wont buy and what item types. Sorry for the confusion. I am getting closer to having all the starting cities re-organized. As usual, please log your ideas and issues with the typo or idea command. I'll try to address the things I can.

I'd like to log the idea that the new system is worthless. I make waaaaayyyy more coin grinding NPCs than I do selling like...100+ pieces of eq. And that comes with the added problem of how do I carry all of that.

I mean, seriously, on my way through an area with aggro NPCs I get like an obsidian almost. And whatever else I was in the area for. But god, if I actually TRY to make money, it takes like an hour to make 2 obsidian, and then I go buy ONE THING and the majority of that 2 obsidian is gone.
