Suggestion -

Due to changes in greet, maybe there should be a greater number of people remembered. Also, (and I'm not quite sure how to do this) when you go to a party, you are greeted by MANY people, but only remember a few of them. Yet, there are people you get quite close to, and really are 'unforgettable.' So here's my thought anyway...

Depending on intelligence there should be a certain number of people who you can 'remember'.. and if you try to remember too many people, it'd be possible for someone to fall off the list. (But that'd be the fault of the player) There should also be a certain number of people you'd greeted by on a separate 'shorter term' list, in the normal fashion as now.

With an int of 9, perhaps you could remember... 9, but have a total of 18 names you can hold at a time... and up from there..

Thoughts?

I suspect it is a combination rp/code issue involving the pfile that is the reason that people are forgotten, but I'm of the opinion that forgetting should just be taken out of the game altogether.

I think a two-tiered greet system would be great. The first tier, the friends you will always know, would be level based and you can only change it if they delete their char. The second tier would be exactly how it works now.

I think greet should have a counter.

The reason you don't remember the 20 ppl that greet you is a party is because it's the first time you met them and you're unlikely to see them again.

The reason you remember your friend is because you've seen them so very many times and (technically, grammatically speaking) greeted them each time.

If greeting someone you already knew reinforced them in your greet list via a counter, it'd be much harder for them to lose ranking in your greet list and be bumped off by a bunch of once-off greet spammers.

Why do we keep talking about -us- greeting people, the other people are the ones who have to greet you to go on the 'know who they are' list.

You cant help it when 20 people greet you a day, dont know why you guys keep bringing up a greet rage.

I like the idea of a small list that you can make of people you dont forget. Maybe 5 people can go on it or so?

People seem to be obsessed with knowing who other people are. When they see someone they don't know, and figure they should, they greet them quickly in hopes that they'll get greeted back. Thus begins the dance of greet, the greet rage.

Sometimes characters like to ensure that the most number of people possible know *them,* rather than particularly caring who greets them back.

Take the forgetting things out all together. My char has someone he is close friends with in the game, but they dont play alot like others. Because people DO greet all ALOT I find myself coming up with a reason why my char keeps forgetting his best friend.
