I agree. Brew and scribe have been altered drastically by the recent economic changes. I was under the impression that a person would be able to make a small profit margin on them with this skill. It seems quite the opposite in practice. While they're still useful skills, the economic side is basically that everything in this realm is extremely expensive.

Well duh, why do you think I and a handful of others were bitching at Dulrik? He seems brain dead to arguments outside his vision.

I've always said we will continue to tweak things. Things we might tweak: profit margins for selling potions, evaporation of unlimited vials. Things that I don't intend to tweak: vials being expensive when people prove they want them by continuing to buy them.

Yes because like food, those items will be sold back into the system and drop the price.

From a roleplay perspective, it's really odd to have a prebrewed potion be more expensive than an empty vial. Very unrealistic in my view.

From a personal standpoint, it's made training the skill unviable. And basically made it unusable. Maybe for those who had already trained it, or had unlimited money supplies, that's different.

If you wanted to train the skill, why wouldn't you just find and keep empties? There are places in the game that do load empty vials. Even premade vials that aren't sold can still be used for brewing (whether training or actual use).

Time factor and knowledge of a new player.

I have looked the few places I know of, for that. I think people are pretty aware of them, and with the current cost, they're not there much.

I don't understand the comment about premade vials that aren't sold... what does that mean, please?

Problem is all consumable goods should be exempt from the economy code UNTIL the entire code is put into place. Otherwise consumables skyrocket quickly and there is no counter balance to drop the price.

Food reaching three gold a piece and staying there is a good example. Scrolls, vials, and what have you need an exemption at least until the code is complete and there are actual trade skills to offset the economy code.

Again, half assed way to introduce code, and addlebrained not to make exceptions until the code is up and running as intended. Causes price hikes that are wholey unrealistic.

It means you can go to lowbie (and some midbie areas) that have vials that may already contain a spell, and still try to pop another one into them.

(As I'm typing this up, there are several "vial items" lying around in their normal repopped spots and NPCs, so that they're always snatched up isn't quite accurate).

That's fine. I'm just trying to get the evaporation from storebought vials to go away, that's all. Hopefully the results of this poll will convince you that such changes would be better done sooner rather than later. The point of any game should be to have fun, and evaporating storebought vials sure goes a long way in effectively giving the player a big middle finger.
