Mechanically: I haven't seen any argument that really makes the case that paladins need immunity to fear to be competitive. Every class needs to have weak points and this just happens to be one of them.

Paladins' weakness is their crappy melee abilities, fear is something that can be countered easily. I'd rather see them get something to enhance their melee than a fear immunity.

Though, I suppose an argument could be made about giving paladins an ability to have greater resistance against fear through a skill of some sort. Aura of Courage or something.

Heh. Aura of Light, or Retribution Aura would be a better choice, something that heals on strike, or damages on being struck.

While we're at it, Paladins need some sort of Bash move, but one that can hit adjacent rooms. Call it Hammer of Justice or something; just tossing possible names out, y'know. Paladins should also get ME back when other people heal them based on a percentage of HP restored.

To help with their sucky melee ability, give them a completely, stupidly overpowered instant-attack skill that does holy damage to any enemies in the room, completely bypassing any type of armor, healing you and rage-deletes their characters on-hit. (Also forcing you to post on the forum complaining about said move, how you'll never get their ten bux ever again and don't you admins just feel bad now?)

Paladins weakness is their melee, that's why they both lighty cabals provide incredible boosts to melee damage.

I would only support boosting paladins if they lost locate object. Because locate is bedonc.

So, the only way a paladin can be competitive in melee combat is to join a cabal?

Isn't that great.

I remember fighting a merc once. It was my paladin and another paladin who was in my faith. She cut right through us and I dont believe we even got her to below 80%

I mean..competitive against a mercenary or barb who is hasted/gsd/frenzied? Yes.

That's the way its supposed to be. Paladins have plenty of other [REDACTED] to make up for that. They aren't supposed to be the kings of melee.
