Yeah. I've heard of it. And . . . it's pretty [REDACTED] to force someone to do it when you play a priestess of *GASP* . . . oh my god. Even YOU could get this one, Parnys!

That lowbie was a master of manipulation and you know it. Any non-darkie would've had the decency not to try and force a priest of one of the more wussy lightie religions into rezzing them because, "dude, no other priests are on i don't want to have to grind a whole nother level just rez me okay?"

I can't tell if you're arguing for the sake of arguing like usual or if you really feel that, in the same situation, you would revive, say, a necromancer just because there's no darkie priest on and they don't want to wait/do a riddle/reincarnate/find a shaman/warlock.

Then again, I never "got" that one of the delfs I knew was actually nicer than all of the other elves I ever ran into. Even she roleplayed enmity, though.

a compassionate elf gets in major trouble

pardon me if i'm missing something, but when did she get in "major" trouble?

ladyjennbo wrote:
Halela's character gets completely IMM-wiped with NO warning

she had tons of warning, which could be filed under "she should have known better", kind of like an elf should know better than to rez delfs. in that sense, they both have all the warning they need.

but please, let's continue pretending these characters are martyrs to the cause of poor RP.

Poor RP or not (and I think Liri's case was most understandable, and Marfik said HIMSELF that Halela didn't really get a big warning and his decision was too hasty ) I'm more upset about Amschel NOT receiving any punishment, and in fact receiving rewards, when perfectly good characters that aren't supposedly played by IMMs are being punished. It's QQ/curse worthy when Tiadre rezzes a lowbie delf before she knows any better, but it's IMM-rewardable for a paladin to repeatedly break paladin vows after the entire playerbase rises against him? woot.?!

Please tell me you really aren't accusing Tiadre of poor RP. Please. Maybe in this once instance because it goes against the D&D based enmity coding, but overall? NO. She had PAR for a reason.

Amschel has nothing to do with this topic. You can't make an argument against someone being punished (not that anyone is even being punished, so I'm not sure what you're arguing about) by arguing that someone else isn't being punished for a completely unrelated crime. That's like saying "I shouldn't have to pay my speeding ticket when there are murderers walking free!" That's ridiculous. If you have such a hardon for Amschel, start collecting logs, sending them to immortals, talk to the staff, ect. This isn't an Amschel thread.

Maybe . . . JUST MAYBE . . . it wasn't as manipulative or OOC as you think, and Tiadre wanted to help a low level character.

Pretty much, if I look at the who list, I can tell if there's other players on to help someone I'm not inclined to. And . . . BEING Compassionate, Caeserea will say things like, "Nope. I'm not going to help you. But Shahna might."

I can't tell you how many times I've died when there were 0 priests, warlocks or shamans on. If there's one, and she is willing to roleplay her Compassion, for the spirit (and not be an ooc d-bag at the same time!) then I don't think it should be a huge deal.

Uh, how do you know I haven't? I have. Lots of other people have too. It's not an Amschel thread, but the bulk of my post was in defense of Tiadre? You've been attacking me a lot recently after like everything I say. Please stop, geez.

And it's not like "I'm not going to pay this speeding ticket because murderers are walking free!" It's more like "Hey, stupid cop, while you're pulling me over, there's a murder occurring less than three feet from you RIGHT NOW, and you're not doing anything about it... why? And, oh look, some of the cops are even HELPING this guy murder people! Seems like the whole darn judicial system is broken! Guess I'm going to actually mention it to you, Mr. PoliceMan! But you're right, I'll pay for my speeding ticket... just seems like an awful waste while this murder is going on right in front of you!"

Don't accuse me of anything, kthx.

and lols, I totally asked another player over Y!IM why the IMMS have such a hardon for Amschel. I -don't-. This is the first time I've EVER mentioned him specifically on the forums. Get over it.

i think tiadre's great and i have no issues with her RP. my concern is simply that you're putting her and halela on a pedestal. i'm not disagreeing with you about amschel, but just because one character isn't being rightfully punished, does not mean other characters get a free pass.

i would rather that rp be enforced too strictly, than not enough. i would recommend that less time were spent bitching on the forums about amschel, and more time was spent doing something about it - and that means directly contacting imms.

personally, i prefer to handle [REDACTED] paladins ICly. but that's just me.

I'd hate to put words into Dulrik's mouth (I got in trouble for that one time, you know. An interesting story but unrelated to the matter at hand.) but I think they're trying to get across that, no, you should not let things like no other priests on help in a decision to resurrect someone. As for Capital C -ompassion, the lesson seems to be that, yes, race comes before religion and no, elves can't knowingly resurrect deep elves. Should've lied and said he was a half elf instead, snickered and then ran after the rez like a normal delf.

Also, I'm betting every single one of us have had the exact same situation; we've just eaten the reincarnation.
