Personally, I'd say this log is very dubious, and inconclusive at best.

You lost 1 plat, 4 gold when removing gear.

You gained 5 plat when checking your eq.

You had blindness cured when poison is the only affect listed (while also gaining two plat in the process). There's a lot missing from this.

Judging by the damage you were taking, you were likely a low level.

I think, when you use a NPC healer the spell casted on you is the same level as your character. If it was a high level poison, it would be near impossible to cure. Purely hypothetical of course.

If not, you were just unlucky :P

Yeah, the level of the spell is the same as the level of the person requesting the spell: Which is why healing at GM costs 50x more than healing at amateur(1).

The unfortunate down-side is that the vast majority of poisons that affect training characters are above their level, so the chance of being cured is relatively low given any single heal spell. Not long ago I spend nearly two obsidian trying to cure a poison that came from a NPC ~6-7 levels higher than I was.

They seem like such amazing avatars of healing when you first see magic performed and your sword wounds disappear... then the bubble bursts when you find they can't even lance a boil.

A trainee quietly sobs beside the fountain, their dreams of priesthood healing heroics dashed by the pandemic of powerful poisons that must wreak havoc upon these realms.

I was trying to rearrange things so it made more sense, at the same time I was trying to cut down on the actual length of the log. I apologize it is not perfect. If you doubt the fact that the log is authentic, fine. I could not care any less. My question was if someone could enlighten me as to what the reason was behind me spending over an obsidian on trying to heal a simple poison affect. Perhaps I did not do the best job in my attempts to make this easier on the eye. So sue me. I posted this after an eleven hour shift at work, so I was pretty tired. I expect a response like this from a fellow player, but not from one of the Imm staff.

As for everyone else, thank you for your informative and sympathetic replies. All sarcasm aside, I do appreciate it. I think I understand a bit more of how this operates. I am also glad to know I am not the only person experiencing this. I just think it rather absurd that a character of such a low level runs the risk of spending such a great deal of money, when they receive absolutely no services in return. When you are merely of initiate or novice ranking, an obsidian is quite a bit of money. At least I think so.

Hey, you want me to analyze, I analyze. I apologize if you didn't get the answer you specifically wanted from me; that's not what I'm here for. I provided an answer based on what I could see, and for me to give a constructive answer, I personally needed more information. Sue me, if I work better with concrete, than with vapor.

As for the system, it was relooked at Somewhat recently. There isn't going to be a fix that pleases everyone - before this it cost full price whether it healed you or no - and that it was set to the level of the healer in many cases wasn't pleasing to players either, so my oft-quoted "If you give a mouse a cookie" comes to my mind as well.

If you give a mouse a cookie, it will ultimately lead to a plague of vampires taking over the world...And that's why I had to kill mommy.

Wrong. That's why mommy had to kill daddy.
