I'd like to see a darky version of Bolt of Glory that hit's lighties only. I know they don't have undead that can be insta killed, but the nimbus thing would be handy.

It already is.
Read the helpfile. It is negative energy and fire damage. If they are damage by either one, they take full damage. Hellfire is pimp already. It rocks Centaurs, elementals, and can hurt undead.

Cannibal struck the nail on the head. If you're a noob you're not going to make a lot of use out of the class but the hellion has so much potential it's crazy.

I think maybe the reason the OP is so biased against them is because she hasn't played one effectively.

I don't know.

While it's true that some people have played hellions more effectively than others, I'd put them about halfway down or lower on the list of classes I'd "fear" as an opponnet.

For instance, I would be more worried (playing most classes) about Ardith's swashbuckler, Cannibal's swashbuckler, and Cannibal's range specc'd merc than either of their hellions.

I'm curious, Ardith and Cannibal, where do you think hellions fall on the overall power scale of classes?

The only class I fear is rogue and because if you don't constantly keep on your toes or have someone standing behind you, they can open you up because of the ridiculous amount of damage that backstab does. Other than that I'm not worried at all.

There's a lot of quirks with the class but also a lot of really nice stuff that a hellion can do solo by themselves if the time is taken to learn the class inside out.

I don't have to rely on sorcerers to shrink/enlarge objects, I don't have to have them cast giant strength or haste on my character, intimidate can be far more effective than sanctuary at avoiding battles, especially because it is effective for an entire group that a hellion is grouped up with. Cleave while not having the most spectacular damage can do quite a bit and has a chance to instantly kill a target. The class can tank NPCs in white aura areas (mithril lions comes to mind). Maledictions are great for that effect as well. Rift lets a hellion travel about a lot quicker than most other classes can.

If you really need more int then roll a deep-elf. That's all I can say. Domination has worked fine the few times I have used it (and I didn't need a tribunal NPC to reinforce itself as a tank).

I never had problems with cleave missing.

Get yourself a good weapon and have it enchanted. Use your buffs and you generally won't miss.

Cleave is a really excellent opener. You can easily one shot cloth classes with just pure damage. With some weapons I was able to one shot light armor classes.

If nothing else, you should be able to mangle whatever body part you hit.

I am fine with hellions, they remain one of my favourite classes, along with shamans - not the most obvious powerhouses, but very solid classes. I haven't had one in a while, but they've suffered from no mentionable wimps since then.

Imho, they are fine.

the class hellion sucks (players are fine)

people who attack the hellion class and get intimidated shouldn't be allowed to run until intimidation is released

!!!
