Someone disagrees with my perfectly flawless opinion? You must be a troll, good sir!
Petrification blows and you know it. How about we just give sorcerers a Summon Elemental skill and make them as worthless as a warlock? Oh wait, at least the warlock can heal.
I still say we should just remove spell casting classes entirely and give haste/gstr to shamans.
Better yet, make Art counter MP as well so the damage spells actually do something.
Furtive_death's post had no substance to it, he just cried, "QQ!" I therefore thought it pointless to reason with him.
As for your argument, in order to refute the "sorcerors are too weak without PC vs. PC charm", I'd have to go through a treatise on the overall balance of classes and I don't have the energy for it. Maybe someone else will. For my part, I'll just say two things.
First, overall class power is a combination of 1)ability kill someone without them getting away, 2) survivability in PK, 3) utility to self and other classes, 4) ability to "do" things in the game solo. I'm sure I've forgotten some, but that's a decent set of four. With charm weakened the way I'd like it to be, sorcerors might lose to warriors on #1, but they still win all of the other three. It's damned hard to land a kill on a sorceror who knows what they're doing.
Second, on that uber-melee damage you speak of, sorcerors have just as much access to that as warriors. Hell, a sorceror can cleave you to death, backstab you to death, bash you to death, etc. etc. I can understand if you'd like to have this change so sorcs weren't so NPC dependent, but unless it does, saying that a sorc without PC vs. PC charm becomes unplayable is a WEE bit hyperbolic.
