As far as I'm aware, yes, this only affects tribunals. I'm not defending it, or even saying I like it - I'm just saying what it does and doesn't do.

Okay, fair enough.

On topic: I support Jorinthia's proposal here.

Apologies to Jorinthia for derailing another one of her threads.

As some of us may be aware, select guards now attack members of tribunals they are at war with. This is me, politely requesting that they only attack enemies who are mentor and above.

RP-wise, lowbies will not be widely known servants of enemy tribunals, and so the guards will not recognise them.

Game-wise, I really see no need to chew newbies who get inducted early.

What do you mean inducted early? No where do I see anything about a minimum level requirement to join any faction, just a time that a response has to be given by. IMO, if I am level one and have stellar RP to join a faction or religion, I should not be told I'm too low of level to join. That is just the crappiest reason to exclude people from the group, IMO.

But I agree, the guards to be at least equal level to who they are attacking, if not have a level set on them for those they will not attack. If that is not an option, maybe have them switch to mode stun for those X number of levels below theirs and when they are stunned have them removed from the country via a transportation code. Not to a random location, just drop them at the nearest boarder crossing.

Ummm. . .Jorinthia didn't say "too early." Just early. As in, early enough to still be a lowbie.

Even if it only affects Tribunals, that's essentially saying that Tribunals can't have any secret members.

Or, y'know. Less "essentially" and more "blatantly."

No it's not...no matter how much you keep saying it is, it isn't.

I'm not speaking for or against the change either but...how do you 'secretly' defend a city against attackers? From what I've seen in tribs before...you pretty much swear to defend any time someone attacks your city before they let you in?

I don't make anyone below mentor defend, actually, because I don't like killing my own newbies. But, really. There's a guy I inducted, two hours ago, who can't get into Menegroth to train in the Black Market. He's an initiate.

It doesn't make sense, and it's not nice to lowbies or newbies.

So if you all could stop derailing my thread?

Yeah.

That would be awesome.

I'm not going to waste time arguing about the change as a whole, because I've realized that the imms usually don't care what the playerbase thinks about a change of theirs. I also kind of forced the change along with Nytomi, and so I'm trying not to look like a complete witch.

I find that a nice way to provide constructive changes to the mud is to point out ridiculous details of changes instead of combat them as a whole.

Like the fact that every guard in the Moot I can find attacks me in response to this new code, whereas only select guards at select points in Nerina or Menegroth do this. Which means I get to fight eight guards, while the North gets to fight two. Thanks for that, imms.

Since this thread is already derailed- with help from the imms themselves- we may as well discuss that, too.

Have you tried tarnishment?

I offered that for our newbies from time to time when they were getting steamrolled due to law immunity.

Oh, and don't forget that you can gate past all the guards in Nerina and head straight to the inn. Which has no guards inside it. Or, really, no substantially tough NPCs to speak of. Can you do this in any other city?

You can do that in every city except Sith'a'niel.

Nerina actually has it good, you can't gate into the MAIN room of the inn. You can in Exile and the Moot.
Nerina and Menegroth you can gate to 1-2 rooms away. (In Nerina, you gate to the back room, unless something has changed.)
Sith, you can't gate to at all.
