Fine tune the guards' levels to fit the areas that people are likely to go. For example, for the Black Market that was mentioned, guards on route to the area could be about the same level as what a person who might go level there.

Guards could also load and drop appropriate armor + weapons, possibly even potions, so that those who do come across guards, and manage to fend themselves have something to use and sell.

If they drop stuff like random mithril or diamond or something, random no-dachi, random kama here and there, it would reduce the number of people who dislike the change! Guaranteed*.

The fastest, easiest, and most sensible solution would be for these guards to also check to see if the tribunal member in question is tarnished while they check for allegiance and diplomatic status. That is, if it is something that is seen as needing solving.

I offered all lowbies the option to be tarnished until they reached a level where they could use tribunal skills. It offers a number of tradeoffs that lowbies can consider. In-Game, I called it "probational membership" and it had some RP to it, it was fun.

Interestingly enough you A) aren't killed but are stunned B) the guards yell a very specific message but don't report over CB like bountyhunters and C) the attacked member sometimes get punished and reportable for defending themselves.

Lesson reiterated: Mode stun auto surrender in cities is good.
Secondary: Technically you should be able to waltz into a city and so long as you don't have your pet engage/assist/rescue, get stunned, then continue on to places like the black market. This change only applies to certain guards and judges.

I think it makes tribunals more secure because it prevents spying of the lowest-level-tribmember-GO sort, too.

None of this is necassary. There are the only very specific NPCs right on the edge of the city that auto attack. No guards go en route to anywhere. No other tribunal NPCs (currently) attack.

See, if we had this information, it wouldn't have seemed so bad. But, the way Jorinthia brought it up, it sounded like all guards auto-attack, and they go on mode kill. I wonder why the Imms never corrected this?
