Personally, I have it aliased that if I type "se," "sw," "nw," or "ne" in a sentence, it transforms the abbreviation into the full word. Now if I could just figure out a way to read signs while wearing a signet ring...

I'm going to go look at the room in a bit. There has to be something there.

Trust me on this, there are other rooms that you cannot open the southeast room by just typing se. Go to the outpost to a room that has se, it will do the same thing. Don't bash it just try to open it. It really isn't a big deal typing in the full word if it is a slight bug. When ladyjennbo typed l se (look southeast)
the response was "The door to room one is closed". Even if there was a se something in the room when you typed l se it would give you a description of that so there isn't anything in the room that should affect it.

The worst is enchanting yourself with the glyphed armor from Taslamar, then having to take them off and put them in a container every time you go somewhere cool and need to read anything on walls, because apparently the coolest short desc for cryptic writings is glyph and ONLY glyph.

And yes, se and sw almost always do that for me, extremely frustrating.

I don't know about exits, but for objects, I've made good use of using the room.object syntax on many occasions.

You didn't know? If you want to target an object in the room you can use room.object.

I learned this from error messages during auto-looting.

"There's nothing like that in the room.corpse"

Its a nice way to get around confusing stuff sometimes, but doesn't always work.

Ive had the se thing happen with doors too. No object or name problem. It just happens with southeast doors.

The southeast doors in the outpost have the same problem. I've found that if you have to unlock any of the off cardinal directions it's just better to type it out than use the abbreviation.
