P.S. Ok, on a more serious note, here's the way i see things:
Having a spell that works in a certain way and you created a rule that demands intense policing and raises many doubts is plain stupid and only indicates that you are too lazy to tweak it properly.
On the other hand, Dulrik and his immortals do this job for free on their free time, and everyone should be greatful for that.
If such an issue would arise in a pay-to-play mmo, it would have failed horribly, no need to say.
However, SK is a free game, you take what the volunteer builders/immortals can offer you or leave it.
If you choose to play it, you should be thankful for their effort and try to PROPOSE corrections/changes and really, I mean REALLY stop whining so intensely about them. I hardly consider playing SK again when I read the forums.
In the end, an ending situation proposal would be the following (to the immortals) since it would solve many issues for you and the game:
Remove charm person completely of the game, or make it impossible to charm PCs. Instead give sorcerors the ability to conjure magical assistants if you are going to remove it, or give sorcerors a good damaging spells in exchange for its pvp usage. Problem solved.
