If you are a sorcerer, and have someone charmed, and you can't figure out how to kill them, there is something wrong with you. The only way this affects pvp is sorcs can't enter cities from the sky and keep their charmies, meaning they have to go through the gates.

Can't you just cast flight on your charm?

The change we are talking about is that if you enter a sky space with a charm, the charm spell wears off. This really only comes into play in pve, and entering cities from above.

Ah, I must have missed that. Yeah, that is a bad change. Though I don't know if it could be coded so flight could not be released over cities, if this is the reason why the change was made in the first place. Does the same thing happen if you try to fly a charm over the ocean, or doesn't dropping someone there not instantly kill them?

Doesn't happen over oceans, and dropping people over oceans doesn't kill them.

Ah, I thought it would, seeing as you can't swim in the deep ocean.

I say put it back to the way it was. I mean, the cities are obviously domed or shielded in some way because they only have one exit up at most. This is logical in a world where people fly... you want to protect your people from airborn threats. Why fall to your death if you release your fly over a city? Why can't you just stand on top of the "dome" of the city? I mean, that's how it used to be. Take out falling to your death over the spikey cities and let us take charms over the cities. Then you don't have to worry about anyone dropping players on cities, problem solved.

It is actually part of an ancient magical effect on the realms called the "overworld curse," wherein all major cities are in fact very very very tiny, and people magically shrink as they approach the gates. However, because of this, there are limited directions from which these landmarks can be approached.

One of the first to do this was Ganon.

Well, I am sure with a little effort D could make it so that when you enter a city from the sky you are put in a random "outside" room instead of a direct entrance. Very low on the priority list, however.
