At the start of the fight and then later...

If I understand counterstrike correctly, why is IT hitting ME? Isn't it supposed to be a COUNTERstrike, where I try to hit it and then it hits me?

And this is in the Salvarian caves, for those of you who don't know...

P.S. Is anyone playing a shaman, at all?

EDIT: You're right, these situations are not applicable.

I don't think either of those situations applies, though (unless I'm misunderstanding you).

I don't play a class that can dirt kick, and I didn't order my lion to do so. The first quote is me walking into the room with the Salvarians. The first thing that happened was its counterstrike (I ordered nothing and that was its first action after looking extremely angry and charging). The second quote was after I had been dirt kicked in that first fight and fled. I went to sleep (while I was dirted, and my lion was not in the room with me), was attacked and fled, and that was what happened right after I fled.

Somehow you fled and because the NPC was tracking/aggro toward you, that caused you to be pulled back into melee and the NPC countered your attack. Salvarians don't normally have reach I don't think, don't recall if their pickaxes can reach. So you were behind the lion and it was aggroing trying to attack and couldn't - wait right there.

Do you have nospam on?

But wouldn't my being blinded prevent me from attacking it since I couldn't see it to target when it came into the room (especially since I couldn't even see it entering the room)?

And that doesn't explain the first counter, either.

Not to sound aggressive in all this, I'm just trying to figure it out.

Nospam is on?

It would have attacked your lion when you were blinded and you would have assisted in melee?

I know you're not being aggressive, I'm talking it through with you that's all.

I think there is probably a bug with the 'aggro-ness' forcing your PC to initiate melee.

Or I'm misreading (tired) and this is purely cosmetic and can all be explained.

nospam
Syntax: nospam <type> <target>
nospam [all|none]

[type] SELF VICTIM OTHER
miss off off off
deflect off off off
block off off off

move off
item off

I don't really know what all that means. Does this mean that spam is off, or the nospam filter is off?

Also, I didn't see the lion once I died and looked around (I guess it could have wandered off). But I don't think it was present during the second half of the fight (I don't recall its attacking).

It means that the filter is off.

Totally screwy. For some reason even though he's aggro to you, you're starting the fights: The fact that you're doing it while blind makes it even weirder.

The real problem at the heart of this is you training in the salvarian caves. What a nutter.

I attribute that to my ever-present n00bness.
