I, for one, think it's a refreshing change. Personally, I remember the druids from when I first started playing SK, as some fleeting organization that you never quite knew where you had. So if this change can bring back some of the balance zealotry that I remember from back then, then kudos!

Also, the skillset of the class hinted at earlier in this discussion does not synergize with the skillset of the cabal in mention here nearly well enough for it to be game breaking in any way.

I'm not as worried about game balance issues related to this as some others are. The main balance issue would arise from necromancers' (I would say bugged) ability to release aggro undead on their hapless victims and one of said cabal's spells.

Some of you seem to be fixated on the necromancer issue, when it really isn't supposed to be the heart of this change. We've already explained that this class should be treated as a rare occurrence within the cabal and that some handicaps will be involved.

People of diabolic alignments in general, would have a hard time keeping their own interests from interfering with the cabal's goals. This is why they should only be considered for the greater picture, when the balance demands it. In a one liner: Nashira != Druids.

It's not the heart of the change, but it is the most impacting part of it.

If you really wanna change someone's IC direction, change the Fist's. After playing for 9 years, I still don't get what they're all about (if anything).

THAT is being worked on. Believe me.

I'd say you should change the harlequin's direction. Those guys is hopeless, or were before they got "disbanded."

I appreciate that whatever change is being made, is being made to the help files. It's good to be able to see these things instead of being surprised.

But in terms of alignment, I don't see how this can work. How do you have principled, scrupulous, miscreant, or diabolic characters devoted to balance as an abstract? This help file, taken seriously, seems a stronger alignment restriction that the previous situation.

Are you calling yourself an idiotic lemming? Because I'm not.

D&D is based on mythology. Where the Nature v. Necromancy conflict is, I really do not know.

Is breath of life or resurrection necromancy?

Are you actually trying to say that because D&D is based on mythology and that since there was no mention of a Nature vs. Necromancy conflict in mythology (that I know of) it shouldn't even exist in SK? Gimme a break.

And no, breath of life and resurrection aren't considered necromancy by any standards.
