For example, in this log if Tirn had been wielding a reaching weapon (Like ahlspiess, which he was specced in) and tripped in the 1 combat round backstab lag, he would have killed the rogue dead without taking any more damage even after the OP backstab, because BACKSTAB LEAVES YOU VULNERABLE. However, because he didn't know the rogue was coming (quaffing the ivory flask after it's too late), he died.
@Baldric: You're right, ardith is complaining because he died to circle stab, hellfire and taunt when a quaff heal heals him for over 40% and he didn't go ethereal. You're complaining because you think it's too easy, but I still stand by the fact that the only reason you're able to gank people so easily is because they don't see you coming or aren't quick enough on their toes to prevent it even if they do. That and you have true seeing in most of your ganks on sorcs, which is pretty huge and extremely limited, obviously.
For example, if I know that you want me dead on Turon, and I ever get ganked in Menegroth -or anywhere- in a 1v1 with you I definitely deserved to die. And the best part is that as soon as you start thinking about running ima blemish you to make your recall fail

The only classes that should really fear backstab are shamans (No way to keep pulse racing off the top of my head) and that's even moreso if they're playing a half-elf and can get easily cold-iron ganked through sanc.
I'm a rogue, I'm going to backstab someone who might have a reach weapon. I set wimpy 100 for this case. I congratulate myself for not being stupid. Or I'm even smarter and get a NPC like Yric Torquil to stand in the front while I sit in the 3rd row and stab Pertinax to death with the same strategy as the log outlies. How quickly you forget your own strategies.
Do you need me to pick your strategies apart anymore?
Furthermore, my suggested change does nothing to mitigate the threat that rogues present to spellcasters. Your trash rogue that you had in your group did in 48% of my hps in one circle stab which definitely means that he didn't bother to use giant strength or frenzy as the damage increases radically with those spells. If he had bothered with those spells than no matter how much I spammed quaff heal I would be dead as one circle stab would do in the majority of my hps.
To put this into perspective to you, when Minette's rogue first met my hellion she backstabbed her. Both backstabs hit and left me at 40% hps so I figured I was safe from it but I didn't know how wrong I was. When she used giant strength and haste, the first stab alone brought me under 20% hps. That is way too much damage for a class that is already spoiled rotten with the skillset it has.
To put it into perspective more, a GM hellion's hellfire only does 20% damage to my sorcerer. That was with 0 enchants. If I save then you can really forget using it as a damage source.
Obviously you haven't been on the receiving end of a pro player's rogue tictacs and you don't even have a brain inside of that head to out think your opponents.
