*cough*

The PK I'm involved in is generating some of the best RP I've ever had here. The reason you think it's stale is that you're not really a part of it. This game isn't counter-strike, and it's not a MUSH. That's why it's so fun.

I would like the options:

Bind
Requires target to be stunned. Requires a single use tool item. Locks the character into a resting position until the binds are removed by someone else. Pick lock skill will allow someone to escape from bindings eventually without help.

Push (throw?, drag?)
Requires target to be bound. Allows for STR based check to force the bound target to be moved one room/exit at a time. Costs PE.

Both are options I would make available to all players.

It should be a command where the bound person follows you at a greater cost of your and his PE but checks for every step you make.

instead of :
>drag xxx north X100

>drag xxx
You begin dragging xxx behind you.

check fails:
xxx has fallen behind.

victim escapes:
xxx has escaped your bonds!

plus it should add a flag,
(bound) an unfortunate male human is here.

It could also work on humanoid NPCs. (Great for darkie RP)
The NPC could get a chance to go aggro on you if the check fails or the duration is over (that or flee)

I would support this idea and love to see it in game even knowing that some might abuse this just to pest others.
Plus it would be a great step for real bounty hunters.

I don't know. I'm still not sure that it's a good idea to allow every character in the game to be able to drag someone off to be arrested and also circumvent law code -anywhere-

If this -is- implemented, then there should be a set timer on it that is shorter than snare, and that anyone can break out of. The real problem I have with it is that most of its use is going to consist of "Hey, I stunned XXX and took all his lewt, gate me to the judge so I can drag him through the gate and have him arrested."

Either that or "Hey, I stunned XXX, gate to Terje so I can drag him through and finish the job so I can't get banished."

Actually now that I think about it, this is an awful idea.

Sorry, Prince. That quote wasn't aimed at you but more or less -most- of the mud. I know you guys have broken the mold for the faction you're in and I honestly find it really refreshing. I'm talking about most of the other people who just run around ganking or prefer to gank their way out of 90% of scenarios they face.

If that were implemented, maybe you could put a stop in it that you can not push someone through a gate or a rift? And I would think having a time limit on it would be good as well. Maybe as long as it takes for your heart to calm down after combat? Then you can just recall out anyway...

Gate/Rift limitation would do little to stop using bind for the purposes of holding for the purposes of killing. I would think that it would limit the RP potential quite a bit, actually. Bind + Blind + Push could lead to some interesting "You come to your senses in a strange new place" scenarios.

That short of a time limit is also enough to negate the entire idea of implementing it.

Considering the target was stunned a crime was already committed. This makes it possible for tribunal members to capture and jail their enemies. I believe that while yes, it does leave some abuse possible, it doesn't stop tells, summons, gates, cabal channel, and these are just a few ideas that could offset the perceived danger. We could even make binding a theft level crime.

What is to stop someone from stunning a person, then summoning them to Uxmal at current? I think that considering the strength of charm, bind and push seem relatively limited. I do like the idea of making it work like follow with a save. I could see where some bonds break down quick and don't hold anyone over a certain strength yet are widely available. There could be unique adamantite and energy ones that are impossible to break. Why not give rogues, (bards)?, (mercs?), and scouts the ability to craft bonds?

Why can't you charm people who are stunned? This is annoying.

Everything about charm is annoying.
