Don't you think that the playerbase has matured to the point of not using emotes as the "say" command?

Wait.. playerbase.. matured?
I love that quote, but it's true. It matured because now I'm part of it.

The emote thing has been this way for a long time... you don't notice it when you make emotes or if you and the other player have languages in common. It seems that emotes come out okay more often than says do so that makes it less noticeable too.

I remember a player starting a thread like, back in the fall? A newcomer who was righteously perturbed about languages or something. She got ridiculed viciously.

With the current mentorship system, only two things can possibly explain not having superg languages: willful ignorance and willful neglect.
