Thing I like most about this mud, is not only do people generally RP. (i've never had much of an issue) there is no global channels that are used for idle chat. That would get me to play (if a friend didn't make me in the first place).

We idle chatted in the Talon all the time.

And in my teamspeak.

As for the OP issue, the only thing I would suggest is examining the paradoxical situation you set up with "roleplay required, roleplay rewarded."

It doesn't quite make sense. We're required to be rewarded? What makes the reward special if I get it just for doing what's required? And so forth.

The major points of the blurb don't highlight the coolest and most developed aspects of the game, sort of.

I dunno, something maybe like:

That isn't global. That's just the Talon. And if you made a habit of idle chatter, I'd have kindly asked you to hush. Or just turned CB off. :P

I've noticed and liked the fact that the Harlequins were very verbaly active. If i was in at a young age, I really liked the fact that I had several people to speak with as I trained.

There's a difference between being verbally active and idle chatter. The Fist is pretty "verbally active," but we discuss issues that directly challenge our paths as lighties/monks and not just "ZOMG I AM GREP AND I LOVE THE SOUND MY KEYBOARD MAKES WHEN I TOUCH IT."

yes, as mentioned those are not global channels so I can't hear (or in this case read) them. Though if the chat is anything to do with the game in RP it wouldn't bother me, but if you are talking about some random, television show in the talon chat, that just makes me not to want to ever think about making a char to join the talons.

What is said in your teamspeak matters little for that is outside the game, and is designed for what ever you want to talk about. Perhpas it's me but when I am in the game I really only think about and talk about (in char) what's involved with the game. (rarely do I go ooc for anything unless I realy have too.) that's just me though.

Which is why I had issues when I use to play World of Warcraft. Thank god you can turn channels off in that game.
