I think we all just want a new class once every 5 years! Pirate sprite anyone? About we should get a class that can utilize a boat and sail the open seas to the secret ocean city of Zy'luut.

How about space aliens as a playable race?

I'm not saying ninjas wouldn't be cool, just that I like that the game doesn't change quickly and that the changes are carefully considered... the first time I realized that Minotaurs are now a playable race I was very surprised. I think that has worked out well but there were years and years of whining about needing another race to balance out Griffons before that happened. If and when they put ninjas in, there will be a lot more thought put into it than just that it'd be cool. I could be wrong but I don't think this is the first "Give Us Ninjas" thread.

I posted this in the past and I'm sure someone has done it before me.

Also Hellions are more of a Ninja than the Rogue class is. At least when it comes to super human feats like magic as the real life Ninja's possess none yet the ones in science fiction always have.

Plus I'd make the Ninja class more of a Debuff / Disable / Spell class. Skilled with thrown, claws and sword weapons. Advanced stealth skills and attacks capable of short term silences on casters via poisons or a strangulation skill.

But to make a long story short, this game needs something new!

Chem had some really good idea. I have to agree with him when he says that a hellion might be a bit closer to a ninja, as not only do they get sneak and hide, but also invis. Handy. Well, since I have way too much time on my hands, I thought I would put together something really quick and see what everyone thought.

[Skills help] stealth

Syntax: automatic

Stealth allows a person to move about the realms with creating little to no noise at
all. The skill is more difficult to use when jogging, and even more so when running,
but allows a master of stealth to wander about the realms in silence

See also: sneak

[Skills help] stealth

Syntax: flash <target>

Flash gives an adventurer a chance to momentarily blind a single target, or several targets in a group, he or she is
currently in melee with. The flash itself does no damage but it does give the user a
temporary advantage in battle, as their foe's accuracy will diminish significantly, not
to mention an opportunity for escape if needed. The use of this skills is not restricted if the target happens to be flying.

See also: blind

[Skills help] enhanced throwing

Syntax: throw <object> <target>

In association with the throw command, enhanced throwing allows the user to throw an
additional projectile at the same time. Enhanced throwing can only be used with
daggers and throwing stars, as the ability to throw more than one large weapon at a
time would be extremely difficult. Although throwing a weapon does slightly more
damage than simply using it in melee, this is compensated for by the loss
of the weapon itself. To ensure that you get the most from this skill, be sure to
always have extra weapons in your inventory.

See also: throw weapons 'auto fire' siegecraft

[Skills help] acupressure

Syntax: acupressure <target>

An experienced ninja has extensive knowledge of the body and how it works. With such
knowledge, the ninja can apply extreme pressure to specific parts of the body to attain
specific result. If acupressure is performed correctly, the result can induce the
inability to speak, yell, order, sing or cast spells, as the vocal cords become
paralyzed. A partialy successful attempt may result in stunning the target very briefly,
but a failed attempt may leave ninja vulnerable for a moment.

See also: cast order sing

[Skills help] vanish

Syntax: vanish

Vanish allows a ninja to retreat from battle in nearly a blink of an eye. Using the
arts of distraction, a ninja lets forth a blast of dust or smoke as cover for their
escape. When a ninja uses vanish, he or she will end up one room or league away from
their foe in a random direction. Keep in mind that vanish does not take as much
physical energy as recalling, but it still takes a fair amount.

See also: retreat

I had it formatted so it looked like it should in the game, but the window to post in wouldn't cooperate. Sorry it's a bit long now. I think you will get the idea, though. Let me know if something doesn't make sense or I messed up on something. Feel free to let me know what you think. It's just an idea and I have way too much time on my hands, lol!

honestly?

I think I'll go ahead and bring it out now.

Let's just switch to a classless system, if you're going to do that. In the end, it is less code planning.

Rank all the abilities in terms of power, buy them as you level. Mix and match. Let certain low-level selections enable or disable higher-level ones. No shield block without at least light armor, that kind of thing.

It would be quite a breath of fresh air into the game.

I can't say I agree with you. I think the capabilities of overpowered players and twinking would be far too great. To be able to mix and match anything, you would eventually have a bunch of people with the same sets running around ganking people. I would give it 6 months and the luster would be gone. Everyone would figure out the best sets and that would be it. After everyone figured it out, it would be back to lewt hunting and hoarding all over again. I won't disagree with you on the "breath of fresh air" aspect, as it would. It could also be interesting. The idea has potential and it could be fun. I just think it has too much potential for making things worse. Especially with CRS.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mean to be a nay-sayer or shoot you down just to be a jerk or anything, even though my whole post, let alone the thread, was about ninjas though. Not about the class system. I see what you mean. The possibilities for RP would be VAST, and I'm a bit of a RP [REDACTED] to be honest (did the forum just change my other word to "lady of the night"?? That doesn't have the same affect at all, LOL!). I just happen to disagree that this would be the best thing for the game as a whole. Then again, that is just me.
