I know a lot of people have been suggesting new ideas for sorcerer spells. I, on the other hand, have been trying to think of something relatively underpowered to replace the relatively useless Final Strike spell.

I was wondering just now, as I've been tinkering around with the sorcerer class for the first time in.....well.....years really, why they can't unlock doors magically. I know that's what bards and rogues are for, and if you really wanted to put your mind to it, one could really do anything with magic. However, It wouldn't have to be so straight forward.

It would be based on level, like the current pick lock skill, but with the risk of it backfiring if performed poorly. If it failed, perhaps it would permanently lock the door from that point on unless you had the actual key? I don't know. This may be a completely useless idea, considering a sorcerer has access to etherealform and can just walk through most doors at that point. I just thought it might be kind of handy for treasure chests and things. *shrug*

Just an idea.

10: can you cast polymorph? if no goto 50
20: polymorph giant
30: bash door
40: did that work? if yes goto 120
50: can you cast ethereal? if no goto 90
60: cast ethereal
70: walk
80: did that work? if yes goto 120
90: can you cast charm? if no goto 120
100: charm a rogue (summon the GM rogue everyone knows if needed)
110: order pick
120: done, if still locked, you're probably not meant to get inside it anyway

Wow....I'm not even pissed. You put alot of work into that. That's pretty damn funny, actually LOL! I enjoyed reading that!

Hmm, not sure why a certain word would turn into "love", kind of just wrong and dirty and some what German.

I've been wondering about that for some time now, and why someone decided on that as a replacement. Not to mention, I'm just trying to figure out what the original word it replaced was.

Anyway......there's a force field spell already in the game? If so, and it's an Imm only spell, that would rock. I'm assuming it would be something along the lines of enhanced shield, or a cross between armor and shield?

I believe Chem is speaking of Spell Ward
