It was already explained that you can draw NPCs with things as they are.

It was already explained that giving barbs that ability would be OP.

Here are your RP reasons. Take your pick of the following:

1. Barbarians like to be up close and personal with whomever they're killing. Bows are for sissies.

2. Barbarians lack the finesse, intelligence, and/or patience required to operate a crossbow or similar weapon.

Finally, can you think of any RP reason that a shaman can't learn to use a sword, or a mercenary can't learn how to find herbs in the wilderness? Probably not, since these are things that anybody could learn how to do if they tried and had a good teacher.

Word.

When a barbarian gets enraged, they want to charge at you, headbutting and bashing all the way. Using the most badass, massive weapon they can get their hands on (not really).

RAWR!

I'm sorry to say that I agree with the nay sayers. An enraged barbarian would be more likely to ram a bow up your bottom or smash your face in with a crossbow then they would be to say line up a crossbow and shoot it, or carefully aim and draw back the string on a bow.

I don't think barbarians should get anything like that. I mean they get sling, and I thought that could reach across rooms, I was disappointed when it didn't, but like others have said you can still draw stuff in without hitting.

The only thing I would like to see added to barbarians is the ability to do some kind of counterstrike against the plant and steal skills. I think it's totally stupid that a barbarian is preternatually quick and they can counter incoming blows with lightning speed, their senses are so sharp they can detect unseen people approaching them, even while sleeping, and yet some thief can just shove his hand in a barbs inventory and steal off him, or toss some crap in his inventory and the barb just doesn't notice. I don't like that.

Other then that barbs are tight. Every problem they ever had in my eyes, was solved when prone was added and barbarians could berserk/fury while bashed. They are perfect now. Dulrik has done a good job on the barb class.

Personally I agree with alot of this stuff.

However, I would still like laser beam eyes.

Fair enough.....fair enough.

While we're on the topic of barbarians, what is it that berserk affects that causes the drop in the level of certain skills, and spells if you were to have them?

I don't notice a drop in my WIS or INT, but it could be that the decrease isn't enough to cause a noticeable drop in your attributes.

Try and bare with me, as this is my first serious warrior class. After all these years, I usually end up GMing a scout, rogue or bard, so I'm in foreign territory right now. I apologize if these seem like amateur questions. I can request this be moved to the newbie section if need be.

It says it in the description help file

Quote:
help berserk
[Skills help] berserk

Syntax: berserk

The ability to berserk is available only to barbarians and it defines their
style of head-strong fighting. While berserking, the barbarian attacks faster
and tends to shrug off spells that might impede their attacks. The surge of
adrenaline when berserking provides a boost to health similar to a healing
spell. However, a berserk barbarian's reasoning skills are greatly impaired
for the duration and they are more vulnerable to magical damage.

It's not INT loss, it's concentration loss.

Don't feel bad. I've been playing nine, possibly as many as 10 years, and I have never gmed a necromancer, bard, hellion, or warlock.
