Is the ability to order certain guards dictated by charisma, still? Thereby, the most powerful NPCs being inaccessible to a leader with low charisma, despite level or flag?

I thought CHA had to do with order lag.

Is CHA the only deciding factor then? Or does level and other factors play a role as well?

They're just overflowing with membership on account of all their great features.

Precisely my thinking. There goes my Keeper, whom I would roll but dumping CHA for no reason but leadership seems like a poor idea.

Half the classes in the game directly benefit from high charisma. Mercs, swashies, hellions, sorcs, necros and warlocks all benefit from high charisma, and the rest CAN all benefit from high charisma because having the ability to order a pet to rescue you if you get bashed can mean the difference between life and death sometimes.

And there are more benefits to being in a trib besides just carrying around an extra guard in homeland and enemy territory.

Don't forget bards. Bards are all about charisma.

Because every bard wishes they could find a way to get NPCs to be more useful to them.

Oh, wait...
