Interesting. I never thought of using that to avoid eating flamestrike.

A Peacekeeper utters the words, 'yrawzgculatz'.
Your shield blocks a Peacekeeper's attack.
A Peacekeeper creates a large arc of fire that slams into the ground next to you.

More interesting flamestrike stuff.

I'm going to guess that you had disbanded your group and had ordered the nightingale to start combat then started hitting the monk, and that the monk had been targeting it up until the flamestrike hit, at which point the AI code for target switching kicked in as soon as the cast went through. The ordering of the attack happening "before" the flamestrike, as well as the extra "in between rounds" attack is just a quirk of the code that causes AI to attack a pets owner.

No, he was in the group with me, but that is an interesting strategy. Since nobody pointed out anything that I was missing (he was not using combat casting and he didn't fail the spell), it seems to me that either flamestrike is bugged, or I am supposed to be able to protect my pet from it with my own shield.
