At an age tick when your physical stats go down but your mental ones go up, do the latter go past the racial stat maximum if said stat is maxed?

I don't know for certain but I recall hearing in the past nothing can make something go over 25. (the max for everything)

That's fine if they can't go above 25, but I was more wondering about the races that don't cap at 25 with their mental stats.

Think of it like this.

The following represents a human necromancer with 15 Strength.
As you can see, 20 strength is possible. The last five points are beyond the racial limits for this race:
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●○○○○○◌◌◌◌◌

With age, the limit itself changes for certain statistics. Let's look at what happens when that necromancer loses some strength:
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●○○○○◌◌◌◌◌◌

What if the necromancer had maximum strength? Let's look at their youth:
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●◌◌◌◌◌
And age:
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●◌◌◌◌◌◌

Here, they 'lost' a point. If they had spent attribute trains to get it, they would now be lost.

The limit can increase for mental stats, but not above 25.

For example, a drow sorcerer with 25 int at youth:
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●
Gains nothing.

But a human sorcerer (23 maxed int at youth)
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●◌◌

With age, can gain more as their ceiling rises to 24.:
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●○◌

Thanks for taking the time, grep.

Grep's nice graphs notwithstanding, that post seems a little misinformed.

Physical stats (STR, DEX, CON) lower in CURRENT AND MAXIMUM capacity at age ticks.

Intelligence stats (INT, WIS, CHA) increase in ONLY THEIR MAXIMUM.

Oh, and they don't all move at every age tick. In fact I'm pretty sure that at the first age tick you only lose physical stats and get nothing in return for it, though I can't say for certain which ones move when.

Also, no stat max can ever go above 25 (Omniscient/Inspirational) regardless of age ticks.

This statment is a bit confusing. To clarify (and correct?) physical stats go down in maximum capacity (e.g., a human sorceror with 20 strength maximum would now have a maximum of 19). The current stat score does NOT go down unless you happen to have a natural max score (i.e., if that sorceror had an actual strength score of 20 when he age ticked). Otherwise your actual score is unaffected by the tick.

In cases where you do lose an actual stat point from aging, I do not believe you get that stat point "back" to spend, but I'm not certain.

The rest of Edoras' post is right.

This is not the way it should work, but it's the way it does. Much easier and fairer would be to just have both current and maximum stats adjust with age.

Unless something was recently changed, they lower in both current stat AND max capacity.

I know cause I had a warlock that went to 3 dex instead of 4.

Interesting. I didn't have anything happen to my str or dex on either of my last two age ticked priests.
