I think what'd make most sense, and make you guys happiest, would be the ability to add different materials to the arrows. For example, there are lumps of adamantine in the game, why not make it so that picking those things up actually has a purpose? A scout picks up a piece of adamantine, or cold iron, or something similar, heads to a forest. fletch cold iron, or something and he attaches the material to the head of the arrow. It'd serve the same purpose as what's been previously said in this topic, but makes it more realistic(and gives those damn rocks that you can always find in caves an actual use...)

There already is an actual use.

Nope, and I don't know if I'm at liberty to say...I think I can say join the Midnight Council.

EDIT: unless you're talking about an item of adamantite that I don't know about.

I was just talking about the random pieces of ore you find in caves, and mines in the game, nothing in particular. You can always find lumps of copper, iron, adamantite, etc. lying around in the MUD that serve no purpose except for selling them.

i know this is an old thread, but I was thinking of a cool buff for arrows.

ancient mayan hunters used to imbue their arrows with poison from either herbs or animals of the jungle (frogs and vipers), would be cool for scouts to imbue the tips of the handmade arrows with poison/plague/sleep solutions with the herbs it founds.

could be a better use to the herbs other than traps for n00blars.

That would be a really cool idea, except for the fact that poison stacks, so if you had 20 poison arrows you could make anyone with a less than stellar fort save drop all their EQ on the ground for you to pick up while laughing at them.
