Twilight is a better experience if you're prone, from what I've seen.

The fact is, the only thing that ethereal form wands save you from is taunt. Anything else, and you can just use a recall potion. EVEN THEN you can still recite ethereal.

Etherealform has been around for a long time, and because sorcs and necros are squishy, they need it in order to be viable so they don't have to recall whenever anyone with some brains fights them.

Realistically, it's redundant in regards to class mechanics to have wands of etherealform in the game, given the consideration that sorcerors can scribe the spell and allow more classes access to the scrolls than have access to the wands. Right now I don't see sorcerors scribing etherealform simply because the wands are easy to come by. I'm definitely for the option to just remove wands of etherealform from the game entirely.

They came first for locate object,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't playing a paladin.

Then they came for scrolls of charm person,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't playing a rogue.

Then they came for the wands of etherealform,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't playing a necromancer.

Then they came for me,
and by that time nothing was left.

The ONLY thing taking these wands out of the game would accomplish would be to massively wimp the weakest class in the game: warlocks.

Uh, this statement is completely untrue. Warlocks are definitely NOT the weakest class in the game, and nearly the opposite. Warlock is my favorite class and I can tell you first hand that they decimate when built right (not including the ultimate combination by throwing them in the Druids). They may suck somewhat at the low end of the leveling spectrum, but get beastly powerful at the high end. Taking out the wands will not nerf them in any way, and a warlock using an etherealform wand actually nerfs themselves, since they don't get teleport/gate/rift.

In a lot of games, there is a feature called "unique items". What it does is a player may only carry one of those items at a time. Then certain powerful items could use adjustments in their charges. Ethereal wands probably only need 2 charges maximum on them.
