I think Battle-axes should be fast enough for four attacks per round w spec or fury. Maybe this could be just for dwarves, but even if it was it would make them better without being overpowered.

I agree, I have a dwarf spec'd in baxe some time ago, and only hasted did I get 4 attacks solid, NEVER without haste did i get more than 3, usually two. A two handed one was better than 1, but half of the 2 handed ones in the game have been changed to gaxes. They are not super gimpy but a little buff could help, hell half of the weapon subtypes in this game need a buff, compare a epee to a rapier....

Battle-axes are in fact incredibly gimpy.

The only people who use them seem to be shamans.

I agree as well. As Estobar I wouldn't even consider using an axe of any kind in combat. And he was a dwarf. I wouldn't use an axe as a non-shaman character.

Beufo was specced in baxe gaxe and he never used them, partly because he was a fist and partly because they were crap. This was before the dwarf axe bonus though.

If all the irredeemably crappy weapons were taken out of the game, we'd have so many vnums to inject more useful stuff with.

The whole staff subtype.

The whole flail subtype.

All whips except b-whips.

All polearms except pikes/lances. (Lances totally suck. But SOMEBODY needs them)

All maces except pole-maces.

Most axes, probably.

Half of the sword/dagger subtypes.

Honestly, there's only like..less than 20-30 subtypes that actually get used. If there's even THAT many. Probably more like 10-20

I'd like to trade every gladius, compound bow, and jo staff for a papyrus scroll, I don't know about you.

I've wanted to see a morningstar specced merc for a while, I think they'd be punishing.

Blade staff specced merc would be tight too, but mostly from a "cool" perspective rather than a twink perspective.

might be blade, I think the only reason why the staff specced merk didnt work out was because the only thing stopping it was the fact that the specific subtype had no good material types.
