Not to say that he isn't a skilled player, because he's at least more skilled than I've ever been, but the SERIOUS enchants that he had, and other items went a LONG way.

I'd wager that Nico probably would have felt the same if someone had used a bandalore against him without ironguard.

I agree on this. The least damaging weapon in the game dropping any warrior class in 6 hits with that much damage is insane. That's 1 round of combat which means a max HP trained warrior would last 2 rounds?

I'm sorry, but I'm under the impression that warriors are supposed to be stout, rugged people that can take a beating. Last I checked, warriors weren't supposed to be hiding behind horses / charms like a sorc having to keep a word vial in their inventory. Something looks skewed, racial weakness or not.

A great axe doing that kind of damage I could see, but the small accurate weapons are far too overpowered to the point that no one uses any big damaging weapons. How many people do you see use polearms at all? Halberds? Lances? They're crap compared to things like an epee or a shuriken or bandalore simply because they'll never hit the person wielding said weapon.

There's a lot of misinformation in this thread. The only overpowering weapon in the game right now is the bandalore.

Syn's character got hit in the head several times by a cold iron weapon, which her character is weak against, so she takes additional damage from that weapon.

The head area has less hps than other vital areas.

She plays a swashbuckler, which uses light armor, so there is a possibility that the weapon ignores her armor completely, so she is taking full damage from the attack.

She is getting hit by a barbarian, who is likely berserked.

All of this conspires together to do what you see in the log.

The *only* thing that is wrong here is that a shuriken can be palmed and used as a melee weapon. The only thing I could suggest is to rework the throw code to make throwing weapons a viable option, outside of tossing a cursed shuriken like a [REDACTED] ninja, which I've seen done in a PvP scenario before. It is awesome and nothingxs's dick grew two inches in length and girth from that, but I seriously don't think that shurikens should be used as melee weapons.

Fix the throw command, that's all.

Swashes are just kinda weak. Estobar killed a gm sprite Harlie swash and lost like 10 percent of his hps. That swash then called for help while Estobar was talking to him over his dead body and Estobar then beat a gm crucible merc so bad the merc has to word of recall out even though esto was bashed the entire fight.

The weapon Estobar had equipped was a Yo-yo back before it had it's material changed.

Yeah, sprite harlie swash vs. Hammarb bandalore is going to end in one dead sprite.

So he is a large centaur barbarian, who is furied, has a cabal skill and is using a weapon that you have a racial weakness to. And for shits and giggles we can say his weapon is well enchanted and his str is maxed.

This looks normal to me.

So, it's perfectly normal for a warrior with 15 hp trains to die in like 6 hits?

Why the umm... does anybody play melee classes?

If I want to be that squishy, I'll make another sorc. And be totally invincible, despite my squishy.

If this is your elf, then yes, this is normal, thus why folks don't play elf merks.

Barb>swash>merc>barb

It's been like this since I started playing this game. And swasies are as deadly as bards. There is no middle ground. 95% of the time they are close to perfection and even op (like grouped bards) or they are complete trash (like most solo bards).

Also who said that 15 hp trains is a great amount of hp? (with 15 you reach a merc's pool at best?) In any case the swashbuckler must not get hit by anything. The hps do not matter. If you are hit you're dead. This is the reason the 95% rule above is true. :D

And if a furied, hasted, (maybe gsed), large centaur with a vulnerability active weapon and his cabal skill couldn't deal with 700 hp in two rounds then I bet barbs would really suck in a normal situation.

However I agree that most slow/big weapons are not used today. I remember asking about weapons when I had my first character (04-05) and people had always a good word to say about big weapons like great axe (same people of course were laughing at my barb using wakizashi). Then there was the flamberge trend. Pike was always popular. But you had the feeling that slowly, but steadily, favorite pbase weapons are getting smaller and more accurate. From sickle to khopesh to kama to wakizashi to epee. And from pike and trident to bspear. Maybe discussing ways of making big weapons lethal again would be a good idea for a new thread.
