Common Courtesy? There's four of you saying that sexual harassment is a problem on SK. And you're the only ones. Basically i'm just saying it's not us... it's you.

Actually now that I think about it. This game is offensive. And I don't like all the racism between humans/elves, and half-elves. I have a lot of mixed friends and it offends me. So you guys better not RP that anymore. *roll*

No, people believe it isn't a problem because there are only a few players who have the same low standards as you when it comes to what RP is acceptable.

Sexual harassment is one of those things where if one person objects, and especially four, it's a problem. Maybe not for everyone, but for those four people, and their opinions matter. And you should tread carefully - ICly, in my opinion - to make sure that people have a fun playing experience. I'm not saying most of these situations can't be handled ICly, absolutely they can.

Besides, four people is like fifty percent of the active SK population.

And with that you do have me. Those four peoples feelings are important. Perhaps lets report and OOC harassment, basically of any kind, and only make extreme cases for IC harassment? I personally think Verets RP is much too watered down for a diabolical warlord. I would think of warlords from Congo of Afghanistan, in RL Veret would be beheaded for his softness so I think he really does try a great amount to not take it too far. I do think it's in the middle of your strong feelings, and my strong apathy. But I agree your opinion does indeed matter, and for that I am sorry for being a D word.

Yes. Common courtesy. I didn't stutter. Even I don't go running around disregarding people as you seem to here. I am NOT offended, and I do NOT feel that sexual harassment is a general problem in the game. But some players do, indeed, take it too far with other players. That's a fact.

Whether it's a simple misalignment of role play comfort zones or that someone actually feels harassed is immaterial.

If everything is good and no one speaks up for being offended, great. Play your "dark aura" in a two-dimensional spectrum. (Not that this is about aura. Light auras could just as easily cross the line of comfort with someone.) But if someone states their offense, reacting as you did makes you a class act d-bag.

You saying I don't RP? I am with your character all the time, it's kinda crazy to say I have low standards of RP when i'm awfully sure you can't back that statement.

Yeah Evena I understand. I def do not play a darkie. This whole time I've played i've wondered where the evil people are. Killing people and then RPing being a bad [REDACTED] is far from evil. I would like to see truly diabolical people in the game. But this indeed would offend a great many people I would think.

Ehhh, first off there is a rather glaring difference between being offended by something and feeling/being harassed (sexually or otherwise).

And honestly, you cannot lump together the notion that because I am ok with your character putting babies in a blender and drinking them for breakfast, or because I am ok with the blatant "racism" in the form of enmity, that I ought to be ok with someone being sexual explicit with my character.

If a character says no, and you continue and that player asks you OOC to stop because it makes them uncomfortable and you continue, it has crossed from you acting out your character to harassment. There is the ability to play a depraved character without making the people who would be uncomfortable, feel that way. You don't have to make those advances towards them, but you could do so towards another person in the room and glare at that character. I don't even need to go into all the possibilities of avenues for such RP because honestly, if someone cannot think of different possibilities on their own, perhaps they shouldn't be trying to play that sort of character.

Do I think there is a problem with sexual harassment in the game? No. But I play females and despite any glaring flaws I make in their appearance they get hit on among other things. With that said, I'm not the kind of person who cares. However, there are some people who do and rather than telling them to put up with it or leave, perhaps we can as a group strive to allow those people who actually ask, some comfort.
