It is kind of annoying that for each spell you cast it is one count of attempted murder. Also it is rather annoying that when you are the one being attacked you still get outlawed!! I typically do not mind, but ultimately when you get attacked try a quick defense and end up getting multiple counts of attempted murder it is rather annoying. (end rant)

I think it is part of the whole group combat code. You will also have to fight sanctuary every spell you cast. Though when you look at ranged combat, they do not get outlawed for every arrow or bolt, nor do they have to fight sanctuary for every attempted shot. The only real way to avoid this is to wield a ranged weapon and be in the second row, keeping you in combat and not causing what you are complaining about.

In this last particular instant, if I was second row I would have gotten ganked! Options are just that, and I cast 1 spell and got outlawed for attempted murder against two characters... strikes me as odd.

I was under the assumption that repeated crimes within a short span don't actually create multiple records - multiple castings of a spell in one fight. I think I'd like to see an example of this before I declare anything, but I know Dulrik made a change to the law code years ago to address this exact issue.

If Ivstnesr and the elemental had been on mode stun, would there have been an attempted mugging charge on Ivstnesr?

Your SK attorney says, "MODE STUN IS YOUR FRIEND."
