I think this would be a great addition to enchant weapon to help speed up some really slow weapons and make them more usable overall. Not sure if this would make already fast weapons ridiculously overpowered but I imagine there's a cap on weapon speed.

This could also open up more depth in enchant weapons. Make it enchant 1 enchant at a time like enchant armor with a random selection between damage, hit, and speed. That way people could customize some weapons with speed/hit, or damage/speed, or maybe dabble in a bit of all three. With most weapons holding ~12 enchants(+6 +6) it would be easy to fit enough of what you would want on the weapon, though it may take a few tries.

I like this idea. Though I doubt any changes that require coding would occur anytime soon.

I'd rather see the weapon system revamped than this added, it could potentially cause more problems than it solves.

I do agree that some weapons need to be made more useful, because in the current system a barbarian with a yo-yo will kick the crap out of one wielding a.. warhammer. Thor objects!

I'm against this. I'm also against the current enchantments that enchant weapon gives to weapons.

I'm against the entire enchant system. If you find something enchanted, great. You shouldn't be able to add to it after. x_x

You know I totally agree with that and I would -love- to see enchant weapon and armor removed from the game. I think those two spells actually take away from the game rather than give to it basically because someone with a lot of time can neutralize certain classes almost completely and I don't think that should ever be the case in a game.

You're quite naive as to the way a great majority of games are programmed then.

lolwut? You aren't serious, are you? No game will ever say "this class can't be allowed to kill this class." Not that I think this is what enchanting does in SK by a long shot...but it's the case. Woods, you have to consider things like wands and charms. No class is ever completely neutralized. It's just a lot of cheese kills (like fluke FoD ganks or bash;bang;bang;dead) go out the window with resists.

Btw, enchants should stay, and this speed one shouldn't be added. The weapon system itself is broken, not how you can enchant weapons. Some weapons would just be broken more with +speed. As I said all along, disseminate enchant armor to all the casters.

I didn't say that nobody can be made unable to gank a certain class, but it certainly can be made very difficult, jerin.

I think Terrus intent was that maybe people would be disposed to use slower weapons that do more damage, but I do not think that would be the case. It would just give them more incentive to use the old trusty weapons and make them even more powerful.

What would happen to combat if the stat for weapon speed was taken out, and weapons were a bit more linear between damage and accuracy?
