Syrina was born in a field in Uxmal to a Deep-Elven Priestess of Jinnahra who was exiled from Ch'zzrym. She, in her banishment, had a fondness of music and dance so she joined a traveling troupe. After one of their performances, she was raped by a Human, which lead to Syrina. Being a devout follower of the Ch'zzrym ways, she was going to drown Syrina immediately in a nearby lake, but realized that the trauma was just as physical as emotional and could no longer bear children. To lessen the disgrace in her mind, she named the boy Syrina, and decided to raise him as the daughter she could never have.
Syrina's childhood was awkward to say the least. He grew up wearing dresses, corsets and took any lead female roles in the plays the troupe done as they roamed. He was forced to grow his hair out, how to manage it and take care of his appearance as any female would. This lead to him looking very much like a girl as he grew up. This also lead to unwanted attention from males, and upon finding out he was actually male as well, he often times became ridiculed and beaten. He had no father, so one of the troupe members took pity on him and secretly taught him to the best of his abilities, what a man is and how to act like one. Syrina made the mistake of going home to his tent in men's apparel only to be brutally beaten by his mother and forced into a role of slavery for a week. She said that if he wanted to act like a male, he could learn his place.
Eventually they were heading to Zhenshi and one of the members suggested a shortcut through the Zhang. They underestimated the desert and everyone died slowly. Him and his mother stayed alive by feeding on the carcasses of their diseased ridden comrades. Eventually they were the only two left as they reached the Tarim river. His mother pushed him into the water, not wanting her bastard son to outlive her as she dropped and eventually died. He floated down the river to a bridge where a woman of Zhenshi found him and rescued him at the age of fifteen. He stayed with her for a year before enrolling into the Proving Grounds as a bard.
Those experiences made Syrina very submissive, to the point that anyone that wanted, could have easily broken him. Ealuriel started to do this, but then vanished. As Syrina grew stronger, he saw first hand the politics of things and decided to stay neutral. He was willing to help anyone who asked, as long as it wasn't combat related. He broke that oath helping Seago and Hagrel defend Taslamar from the North. Estobar eventually betrayed him in his eyes so he stopped helping the Hammer for a very long time until Aelavel came around.
As the years dragged on, Syrina became increasingly lonely. With no mistress to tell him what to do, and every woman he grew fond of disappearing, he found himself with no reason of existence, thus he decided that, not only was he going to write a song for each of the Pantheon, he was going to get a kiss from every one of the goddesses, even if on the cheek. He managed to get one from Nashira, but she was the only one to ever seek an audience for his songs, though he was still ecstatic nonetheless over it. Eventually Syrina saw no purpose in his existence and decided to end his life.
