I always really enjoyed my interactions with kura. Thyki was around for her entire life so I really got a good chance to see the character evolve and change. I remember being present for the time when Ralina took Kura's eye and thyki was there for her knighting. I am a bit surprised that she died before thyki I though youd have a couple weeks on me. But it was a good show all around. I am definitely looking forward to the next.

Kura was awsome. Such a great character. I really believe she would have been a legendary adept if that faction was still around during her life span. :drunk:

I really hope you come back with another character.

One of my fond memories of playing with Kura was when I took her with a large group to Ephialtis, about an hour and a half long venture, and right before we attacked Ephialtis I was like "Hey, so... go ahead and do your thing," at which point she fired off the six or so multi-lined emotes of her confronting him that she'd had waiting for who knows how long. Then we killed him and she died. It was pretty awesome.

@ Edoras: Ahh, it was close, but he died first, then Kura died to the shadows. I think...

There were times when I was too harsh on Kura and her player, either in game or in the forums. There are a lot of good things that can be said about this player and his character.

1) Kura had wonderful emotes that brought the game-world to life.
2) Kura's player clearly put a lot of effort into RP, which is an attitude I respect and admire.
3) Kura was constantly at the center of events in game that had lasting consequences. This spiced things up and made the game a lot more fun for a lot of players.
4) Kura's player was concerned with player courtesy and made a special effort to help everyone else enjoy the game.
5) Kura lived a long time and made a lasting impact on the Shattered Kingdoms world. She evolved over time and was always interesting.
6) Kura made PAR something like ten days after creation, and it was well-deserved.

Despite all this, it's no secret that I was not Kura's biggest fan. I've bashed the player and the character on the forums several times over the past couple of years. I'm not sure that there's any reason to rehash those criticisms here. The player is probably aware of what about this character annoyed me, and if he is not sure that he can remember each of those things, he can PM me for a list. :P It's more important to me that the player knows that I do have a lot of respect for his contributions to the game, that he enhanced my own enjoyment of the game, and that I hope he continues to create and play characters in SK. I also think that he has a incredible amount of potential as a player, and I think he can do better than Kura.

I've considered my reaction to this character, and her player carefully.

I liked Kura. I pretty much like all of Ahz's characters. I feel that he has great vision, and a lot to offer to the game. He gives careful consideration to each aspect of his characters, and they feel very whole and real.

My issue is one that seems to be shared with others. The idea of "scripted" roleplay, being a "director" rather than an "actor." It seems kind of like a view into these characters is one taken from behind a glass panel. You may look, but please don't touch. Theater in the style of Hamlet, rather than interactive theater a la Supernatural Chicago. My interactions with Kura were flavorful, but it seems to me that the outcomes were predetermined. That her emotes were lined up in a queue. It was never a random run-in, it was Kura's bidding that the meetings should happen, and only the slightest of nods to my presence once I'd arrived.

I feel that there are times that it's appropriate to know exactly which moves your character will make, but I think that it's important to be mindful that there are other characters involved in the majority of the game. That the game is interactive, and is designed to be. It's clear that you've allowed at least a few others to influence her, but I've a sneaking suspicion that even those were premeditated.
